The show will end soon
ossie858 April 2023
I was disappointed with the latest episode, "Partners in Time." But that's on me, I don't know why I'm expecting anything else. The show has been meandering through a very poor final season, and this episode was no different.

To start, the episode suffers from a serious lack of urgency. It continues to introduce random stories without any movement to an end. As a result, the story feels scattered, with no clear direction or sense of momentum.

Furthermore, the writing in "Partners in Time" is repetitive and predictable and well just plain bad. The dialogue is uninspired, and the characters feel like caricatures of themselves. There are no real surprises or creative twists, leaving the episode feeling stale and unengaging.

Overall, "Partners in Time" is a prime example of the issues that have plagued The Flash's final season. The show feels like it has lost its way, with no clear sense of direction or purpose.

As a longtime viewer, I can't help but feel disappointed by the lackluster writing, uninspired action, and overall poor execution of the episode. While I may continue to watch out of loyalty to the show and its characters, I must admit that I am deeply frustrated by the lack of direction it has taken in its final season.

First off, I am going to keep this as spoiler free as possible.

Now, the past 7 episodes have been absolutely horrendous and damaging to the reputation of The Flash, ESPECIALLY the last 2 episodes. I honestly CANNOT believe that Eric Wallace thought it would be a good idea to put in 2 filler episodes in the FINAL SEASON that don't even have The Flash in them.

I will not hit you with that "this is supposed to honour The Flash" because we are honestly too far into the season to even care anymore and I think we've heard enough of it haha. There is no point of me saying "please make the show more focused on The Flash" because Eric Wallace has already finished filming the final season and he clearly doesn't care enough about what the fans want so..

Lastly, I have a theory that the reason Barry hasn't been in his own show recently is because The CW can't afford Grant Gustin and if that is the case, it just goes to show that this show should of ended when iris was supposed to.

OH. MY. GOODNESS
siggy036 April 2023
Warning: Spoilers
This show finds new ways to be bad every week. This felt like a bad Legends of Tomorrow episode. Speaking of LOT, Eric Wallace actually never wanted to give the show a conclusion on The Flash, since we've had three pointless episodes in a row.

I don't know where to start. This felt like a sitcom episode. And again it feels like the writers lack inspiration since this is the third time this season Barry or Iris are stuck somewhere. But actually Barry was the main character this week. This is already an improvement. Then I will not even bother review the rest of the episode... because there is nothing to review. Between Barry revealing his identity to complete strangers (even if it was cancelled later in the episode), the absolutely awful villains, the pointless flashbacks for stuff that happened two episodes ago and the cringey dialogue, it felt a lot,

At this point I'm just looking forward to the next episode. And someone on IMDB seriously needs to change the airing date because people are already rating it. Anyway: 2/10.

Wait for it.....

Warning: Spoilers
As I expect the complaints for what FEELS like the third straight filler episode in a row, and third "trapped" episode this season after the premier and last week's dream episode. Interesting that all have to do with the future all being planned out and how it's their destiny. While these feel like filler episodes, somehow I expect this may be a huge setup for the upcoming series finale.

I actually wouldn't be surprised if the pregnancy, which came early, is NOT Nora at all. I expect us to learn how the future isn't set, and we all control our own destiny, sounding like Doc Brown here.

I think Barry trying to run to the future and failing is a huge clue to this grand finale. If there is no payoff, I will lower the rating as it won't be right, and raise it with a huge payoff.

This Season is Awful So Far!
panagiotis19936 April 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Live Reaction / Review for The Flash Season 9 Episode 8: The previous episodes were absolutely awful, I hope this one is an upgrade. Iris in this episode just stay at home and eat ice cream, please! And here comes Iris, perfect. I hope this is not another time loop, wasnt that the plot of episode 1 or 2 or something? Just like that Barry decides to time travel? Messing with the timeline? What the hell is going on? Chester and Allegra, probably the worst couple in dctv history, absolutely no chemistry between these two. Wait Barry reveals his secret identity to this group of strangers just like that? What the hell? An episode about another time loop and a time ''thief'', doesn't sound good so far. The only good thing is that at least in this episode we see Barry. 5 episodes left and this is what we get? Seriously? Also let's talk for 15 minutes about Allegra's and Chester's feelings. Lady Chronos, more like Lady Cringe. So much time travel mambo jambo, my brain hurts. Lady Cringe's design is laughable. Also she is shouting all the time, shouting is not acting. I don't know what's more cringe, Lady Chronos or Chester and Allegra being in love. What an absolutely awful episode, pretty much nothing good about it. Bad writing, bad plot, bad villain, it's all wrong. I will give it a 3/10 because of Barry.

Thankfully the interlude episodes are over
Kenjislamberry6 April 2023
Warning: Spoilers
I'm not going to bother doing a proper review for this one . This episode was clearly done to save money on cgi and give Grant a break from the suit . The storyline of this episode could have been so much better but got ruined by the Chellegra scenes . I never thought I would see a romance more annoying that Olicity. This episode should have been a whodunit bottle episode and the villain should have been better . Chester and Allegra were not needed for this episode . It should focused on Barry and Iris . Last seasons interlude episodes were better . Its sad that we're getting these pointless filler episodes that don't add much to the season . It wouldn't be so bad if it was a full 20 episode season . I'm worried they will rush the cobalt blue story arc . They should have setup Oliver's return in this episode . We got noting no cliffhanger . Instead a pointless scene of Barry and Iris eating. Thankfully its back to the main story starting from the next episode . Sadly we have to wait 2 weeks for Oliver's return . I wonder how they will explain it .

3/10 mostly can skip it not missing much .

Another disappointing episode
jp75706 April 2023
This make the THIRD episode in a row that the Flash has failed to appear in uniform. Not that I am jones-ing for the character in uniform all the time, but the show is called THE FLASH. Where is he?

There may be some camera tricks and light CGI to simulate the title character, but Grant Gustin has once again not donned the red suit, Guess he really hates it. Instead, for some weird reason, in one part of the episode, he wears a uniform that is suspiciously close to those on "Star Trek: The Next Generation" - except with a Flash badge instead of the Starfleet communicator badge. Not sure why this was a creative decision.

Also evident are the obvious cost-savings in production. The majority of the episode is set in one part of STAR Lab, with minor scenes in other established set pieces (like home and the coffee shop) - very cost effective.

The story involves a weird time travel plot that really doesn't involve the 2023 Flash. There was no drama, no sense of urgency, nothing.

The coming attractions for the next episode (delayed until near the end of the month) appear to be a return to a costumed Flash, along with the inexplicable return of some deceased characters. (No one really dies on television anyway.) There are now 5 episodes left in the series and we are no closer to a "big villain", a coming crisis, or anything really. The Flash continues to limp to the finish line.

Back to Flash
pauli_gomez7 April 2023
Barry and Iris got stuck with a team of inspectors in STAR Labs. And I mean stuck in time, with crazy shenanigans. It was a moderately fun episode, not great but at least felt like a real Flash episode and not just a filler. There is a very minor C-plot involving Khione, which I think it may be relevant in the future. And the B-plot, which I did not like because I do not like Allegra, at least have very good acting from all the three people involved.

I have a complain though about the show perpetuating the stereotype that women are clueless about sci-fi and cannot sort out Star Trek from Star Wars.

Amazing, and fun episode!
solomonbeepathsingh6 April 2023
Warning: Spoilers
I don't really see how people don't like this episode. I was really surprised when I first saw it It kept me interested, and entertained the whole time! There were a ton of #WestAllen scenes which I really enjoyed, Barry and Iris's chemistry this episode was off the hook, I can tell Candice Patton, and Grant Gustin gave it there all this episode. We get tons of Nora mentions, and a lot about Iris's pregnancy. Barry also uses his speed a lot in this episode, he even tried to time travel which I enjoyed. Only bad thing was the villain... She was kinda wack, but I liked it. Overall a 10/10 episode.

A good ol' bottle episode
RahulM0078 April 2023
Warning: Spoilers
"It's like I'm stuck in the past, and you're racing to the future." This line hit too close to home. It is subtly breaking the fourth wall and acknowledging the inevitable end.

"Partners in Time" is a great standalone bottle episode that further establishes Barry and Iris as the best and the healthiest romantic couple in the Arrowverse. Grant and Candice's fun dynamic and natural chemistry is off the charts. I'm going to miss them so much.

In other news, Chester and Allegra had their own little subplot this episode. I always thought that Chester (aka Chuck) and Allegra worked better as friends, but the writers managed to change my perception of their relationship. The final scene between them was incredibly sweet and almost made me tear up.

To be honest, this entire episode gave me season 4 vibes. The mold inspector turning into a statue reminded me of Ralph's immaturity in season 4. "Effigies. Looked it up. Still say it sounds kind of dirty, but I'm not the mayor of the dictionary, so whatever."

Overall, this is a sitcom episode, and I'm here for it. Plus, the callbacks and Easter eggs to previous seasons was great and added an extra layer of comfort. Lady Chronos looked comic book accurate as heck. Although I wished she was introduced sooner in the season.

*Man, this week's episode had me literally craving cookie dough and vanilla bean ice cream.

Final verdict: 10/10.
