This show slapped you across the face with the concept of parenting and in particular being a single parent. This is not something easy for most people, but usually on TV they take it to a cartoonish show. I will give the folks behind the scenes at Fleishman Is in Trouble for telling us how brutal, but also how rewarding at the same time, it can be.
But I don't know if this exactly translates to compelling TV. While there are some moments that make you smile, there is also a lot of what, "what exactly is going on here?"
