During the war many smaller companies would cannibalise variety features made in the thirties and attach a rather weak storyline. This enables us to see small portions of films which are otherwise lost. I especially wanted to see Naughton & Gold do their plank routine and Billy Cotton and His Band. Also of interest was a fantastic seal act and Eve Beck. However the film was brutally edited. G. H. Melvin is announced and walks on to the stage only to cut immediately to a rather dull airialists turn. Howvere very worthwhile to see this despite an attempt at the interjection of a storyline.
