Fine Mid-Afternoon Watch

Warning: Spoilers
I definitely had some issues with the movie. Let me start out by saying I've loved Shoniqua Shandai in many projects(she's great in HARLEM), but her character in this was so annoying and dumb at times for no real reason that it was maddening. You're a narcoleptic but you're going out night sleuthing in your possibly insane neighbor's yard where you could pass out and get caught? Oh, and she also thinks it's a good idea to climb up the tallest ladder where she could also...you know, pass out!! Make it make sense? And this is the same woman who reminds us she's a physics professor at MIT with multiple degrees literally from beginning to the very end. Gtfoh. All that education and no common sense make for a terrible protaganist because at least twice, as bad as it sounds, I was rooting for P-Mac...the abuser/murderer. Smh. But overall this movie kept my attention and there was A LOT of talking back to the screen by me, the hallmark of any good thriller :). Shout out to Buster the dog, the real hero in this story(i'm not even going to ask how the dog got out of the house and made it to the neighbor's house just in time.) And I love DeRay Davis in this, if he died i would've turned off the movie, he was truly the best part of it!!!!!

Dope movie, well executed

This is my favorite thriller this year. The director did an amazing job making a modern version of the woman in the window... but had Disturbia vibes. I loved that it had a multicultural cast and the two stars are going to be major Hollywood figures, they're on their way already. I think it would be really interesting to see a follow up, possibly a sequel or another rendition of the same sort of movie by this director. It's different from what we've seen in the genre lately so it's a refreshing take and the style and look they used was really fresh. The p valley dude really took the role all the way there and the girl from Harlem did the same. Awesome.
