This show shot itself massively in the foot by reducing Betty to only a supporting role in its second series. I don't know if it was because the actress was unavailable, but boy did they miss her. Her being back here adds another star alone.
This was better than the last episode, but it still wasn't great. It was all a bit heavy on the exposition and lacking in any real magic.
It had its moments, every episode of this show does, but five episodes in and I'm still not convinced that a) this show needed a second series and b) that all of this wouldn't have been done better squashed together as a 90 minute 'Santa Clause 4'.
It's fine enough.
