Low rent indie horror flick
Leofwine_draca15 February 2018
Warning: Spoilers
BLOOD TRAP is a very low budget independent horror flick, made with British and American funding and shot in Italy. The plot isn't bad, about a gang of criminals who kidnap a young woman, only to find the tables turned when they're trapped inside a forbidding house and soon being bumped off one by one. The low budget is more than apparent throughout, but the presence of stars including a cameoing Vinnie Jones and the SAW franchise's Costas Mandylor helps to raise the spirits a little. The film is well paced but the action as depicted is entirely perfunctory and the whole thing feels very cliched.

Emphatically overcooked, stifling its minimal value
I_Ailurophile8 October 2021
There's a certain sardonic, somewhat frenetic stylization about the movie that, in combination with the clashing personalities of the characters, theoretically lends to a dash of humor. While there's occasionally a morbid amusement beyond the promise of blood that we expect from a horror film, 'Bite,' also known as 'Blood trap,' is never truly funny. Actually, I think the main effect of those touches of style - uncareful selections music beyond the essential original score, sparing visual effects, would-be comedy - is to dampen the impact of the horror-thriller that the film could have been. One great example: if you remember the bunny in 'Monty Python and the Holy Grail,' well, there's a similar moment here.

It's regrettable that 'Bite' is distinctly overdone, because I do like the concept, and I think there are a few good ideas here. Lighting and set design is pretty great. I like the blood and makeup as they appear, and though their employment is questionable in some ways, the special effects do look good. While no one in the cast really stands out, I think they all do their job to help realize the picture. And that unfortunately rather goes for the feature as a whole: not necessarily altogether bad, but not especially good, and at best just languishing in the unremarkable middle. If the story were more straightforward in its telling it would have met with greater success. Why, for that matter - this simply didn't need to be 90 minutes long.

Then take into consideration instances of hackneyed dialogue, thin characterizations, and scenes that are unconvincingly written or executed, and I feel like I'm being overly generous to offer any slight praise. Every added flair, every attempt to dress up the movie with comedy, only serves to diminish our enjoyment. By the time 1.5 hours have passed, it seems like we've been stuck here for twice that, and what possible value we had hoped for when the film first began gradually vanishes over the runtime.

Ultimately I don't think I'd recommend this to anyone at all. Whether you're looking for outright horror or a solid horror-comedy, I'm unsure how any viewer could step away from this feeling satisfied unless they're a diehard devotee. 'Bite' had some small potential, but the filmmakers seemed intent on squandering it.

Did Trap

Warning: Spoilers
This is absolutely one of the worst vampire movies that I have ever seen. The premise is that six criminal types are hired to break into a mansion and kidnap a young woman. Within moments of breaking in, things start going wrong. People that may choose to watch the movie because Vinnie Jones is in it, don't bother. He's in the movie for all of 15 minutes or so, and he's the first one to die. Considering how badly this movie sucked, that's a good break for Mr. Jones.

As it turns out, the young woman that was to be kidnapped is a heroin-addicted vampire. Yes, you read that correctly; a heroin-addicted vampire. I really didn't think that anyone could top the silver glitter vampires of the farcical "Twilight" films, but someone found a way. You see, supernatural creatures, unaffected by bullets or conventional forms of injury, are apparently susceptible to narcotics, accordimg to this epic piece of trash. The heroin curbs the vampire's blood thirst in this film.

As if this isn't absolutely idiotic enough, we're treated to an entire nursery of 28 vampire infants, one of which attacks three of the male leads in this movie.

If you still want to see this movie, despite the heroin-addicted vampire and the nursery of vampire infants, please seek the counsel of a qualified mental health professional immediately. I'm generally a fan of vampire movies, and there aren't many that I don't like, however cheesy or how low the budget, but this one is absolutely horrible.

O-Riginal!

Warning: Spoilers
This thing is weird!

First off everybody knows committing a crime you have to have a united front. Almost at the start the "chief" kills a subordinate. I am certain that would mark him for death not more intense loyalty.

Great nod to the alternate lifestyle community, too bad they're portrayed as imbalanced. They were sexy and prominent.

But at the end of the day it was really silly and SPOILER ALERT nobody, I mean nobody lives.

There is a payoff at the bitter end for Horn dogs.

I'm running out of bullets

Warning: Spoilers
A group of criminals opt to do a quick in and out by kidnapping the daughter of a "rich crime lord in bed with the government." They plan a $40 million dollar ransom. Once they bag the girl Nika (Elena Mirela) the huge house turns into a fortress as the doors and windows shut with steel. "That's what I call craftsmanship." They don't open until sundown. The easy in and out...they "forgot the out part." As our crew explores the large mansion, they discover things are not normal as they open a walk-in freezer with body parts.

Vinnie Jones fans will be disappointed at his cameo role. You should be able to guess the type of film this is from the title and DVD cover, although they don't use the actual word until an hour into the feature. The characters were fine and I liked the soundtrack. The dialogue had humor at times.

Guide: F-word, sex, nudity (Elena Mirela, Grazia Leone, Denny Mendez)

A bloody Good Time

Warning: Spoilers
This horror has a group of thugs breaking into a mansion with the sole purpose of kidnapping a mobster's daughter and then demand 40 million as ransom. Once inside they get locked in tight and find out the daughter is a vampire.

Even those the premise is getting stale this one was good. One thing did suck though. I thought it was awesome Vinnie Jones was in it but then he was the first to go! The dialogue is crisp and well written and the action was non stop. There is all kinds of little twists and turns in the plot which kept it interesting. I loved the ending as well. If you liked From Dusk Till Dawn you'll like this one.

7/10 just because it made me laugh so hard!

This movie was hilarious! Very predictable, I could tell from the beginning what was going to happen although there were quite a few twists I did not see coming. But the whole movie had me cracking up. Especially a certain scene with a knight in shining armour and a staircase. This movie might not have the intention to make you laugh but it certainly entertained me a lot. I can't believe the actors could take a straight face, especially with some of the angles that the movie was shot it. It makes me wonder if this movie was just entirely improvised. Overall a great movie and great acting by Costas Mandylor and the rest of the cast!

All around good movie, and then.
berg-7453219 June 2019
A strange collection of bad guys and a couple of women try to kidnap crime lords daughter and the first 40 minutes or so it's a straight forward story and a pretty good story at that. Then it gets amazing with something I'll never forget. It was so unexpected it was awesome. It changed what I thought of the movie and it made me like it for other reasons. While what happened was great it definitely changed my focus and for me the plot fell apart a little but I did enjoy the ending as well. As soon as you see what happens you'll know what I was talking about.
