What a shame
maxinegould29 October 2023
So sad the this is one of worst films to come out from Blumhouse ! When you see Blumhouse you pretty much know you're in for a good watch ( minus a few ) , but this is shockingly bad! The age rating has made it for a larger market, I get that, but having made it an 18 would of meant a much , much better film would of happened. It's a shame as this could of been up there with the greats but sadly I think some of the Disney films are scarier. As often with films adapted from games and or books this failed badly. Taking a game that everyone who's anyone raved about this game, my children included I thought we'd have one scary evening but the game is so, so, so much scarier. What a shame.

Not what expected

Well, first of all this one is not really a horror movie as most of the audience think, which is a little bit disappointing considering the game is actually about it and surviving of the robots.

The story and plot walks around the personal life of the main character and it's traumas. For moments you enjoy what you see but the movie seems not to have sense on the decisions the characters make, his traumas and the things happening. This eventually leads to a forced story.

There is some violence and blood but not really explicit as maybe you expect, again, based on the background the game has.

It's good to see this spooky toys in the big screen but it's kind of sad seeing the story director had prepared for them.

The real Five Nights were the Freddy's we made along the way...

Guaranteed to make you laugh, cry, and scream, the newest Blumhouse Productions film makes excellent use of the talented Jim Henson's expert puppetry to take you on a roller coaster of emotions from start to finish. I can't think of the last time a movie affected me this way, and I certainly don't see myself sleeping tonight after the horrifying and gruesome scenes I witnessed. Overall, I recommend this film for both the die-hard fans obsessed with the series, and the casual movie-goer who hasn't even played the games. The actors showed true emotions, so much that I felt like I was sitting at Mister Fastbears pizza myself, enjoying the festivities.

This is truly one of the movies of all time.

Not really scary
Kremer-Thomas1 November 2023
I watched this movie together with my son, who is a fan of the game series. After seeing Willys Wonderland half a year ago, which amused us with its absurdity, I hoped to have a similar pleasure.

Unfortunately, Fredys didn't deliver. It was neither scary, nor funny. Since I don't know the games, I probably didn't notice the fan teasers.

The plot rather trickled along, there was hardly any suspense and the kill scenes were unspectacular, probably out of consideration for the younger audience.

The twists were announced with such loud fanfare that they were old before they even came to fruition.

The film could have been funny, the actors tried hard, but it seemed as if the director wasn't sure what genre he wanted to serve.

All in all, I was really surprised that the movie had almost two hours and not much really happened.
