An Interesting Thriller of Sorts
I saw this film at a local film festival consisting of films of local interest, that is, films that were shot locally, or filmed by local film makers, or that had local actors in them etc. This film caught my interest because it was filmed in Oklahoma but looked like it was filmed in international locations. After viewing the film, we had a Q&A session with some of the actors and film makers. It was very interesting! As for the film itself, I found myself squirming, yelping out loud at some points, on the edge of my seat, a place I haven't found myself at a movie in a long time. I believe the film was reworked a bit after our viewing, because it wasn't released for a while after we saw it at this festival. I will say this, I was convinced it was filmed outside of Oklahoma! The actors were very convincing, the scenic places were as well. The story, a religious thriller, was compelling. I can't really tell much about the plot without giving things away. You don't have to be religious to watch it. The basis is this, a couple of young men go off on a mission trip to China, and their childhood friend gives them a gift of 35mm cameras to record their trip. They run into some trouble on their mission trip, and what happens next is most unexpected. Their friend back home in Panama receives a package from them. People are out to get it! This is a story of faith, whether you have it or not. It is worth a viewing. Grab a pillow to twist while you watch!
