The best yet!

Warning: Spoilers
This was one of my favorite episodes of all eleven seasons!! The talk that Nathan and Elizabeth share at the very end & the touch of their hands gives me goosebumps!! When Nathan and Elizabeth are hiding eggs it is SO adorable & they have a fun little conversation going! I love when she falls off the bucket and into Nathan's arms! It's such a beautiful sight! Then the sight of Elizabeth's hand rubbing Nathan's back between his shoulders.... WOW!!! That was gorgeous and SO fun! Little Goldie was absolutely the cutest thing ever!! I loved watching her hunt for eggs with Lee and then bring them to Rosemary! Mei & Mike were cute together & Jeanette! Woow! Gorgeous for sure & definitely could be our next vixen of the town!

Lucas just got a whole lot more interesting, Easter fun, and and baby steps to romance for Nathan and Elizabeth
guardedheartie1 May 2024
It's the first Easter episode for When Calls the Heart, but you wouldn't know it by the episode title "Along Came a Spider."

The Spider, Jeanette Aucoin, immediately made the character of Lucas Bouchard a whole lot more interesting. I don't think I'll spoil anything if I say that she is a shady and untrustworthy character and Lucas is not happy to see her and wants nothing to do with her.

When Lucas arrived in season 6, there were a lot of things mentioned that indicated he had a colorful past. And some of that past came to make problems for Elizabeth and others. Jeanette was (mentioned but never seen) was part of that -- so fans have always been curious about her. In subsequent seasons, Lucas' character was increasingly white-washed which just didn't make sense being that he was a saloon owner and we KNEW he had secrets and things he wished to hide.

Now the arrival of Jeanette answered a lot of questions, and has given us an idea of how much Lucas has overcome and how much he changed. His past with Jeanette is something he clearly wants to leave behind, however he has to face it and be honest about it. Lucas is having an amazing season this year, and these revelations about him do not diminish his character at all. Rather they ADD to his AUTHENTICITY and make him more congruent with the threads of his character that have been present since the beginning.

In other stories, Nathan and Elizabeth had several scenes together that brought their romance along by baby steps, but there were also two scenes that show us how far they still have to come.

Elizabeth reflects a little bit on her for relationship with Lucas, but she's staying surface level.

Mike and Mei had a couple big milestones, and we also met a member of Mike's family -- and she's got the strength of 5 characters in one!

Rosemary and Bill discuss a clue.

The Canfield kids initiate an intervention.

Toby learns to compute fractions while connecting with his ethnic heritage.

All the little kids are adorable.

A very well written and enjoyable episode!

Another Great Episode!

Another fun episode! Season 11 is heading in a fun, interesting direction! I loved the scenes between Nathan and Elizabeth and I thought the scenes between Lucas and Jeanette. I hope this is not the end of Jeanette and I would love to learn more about Lucas' past. Hickam and Mei are also adorable. Overall, it's a fun episode and it sets up the things to come! Those leaving negative reviews likely didn't watch the episode or are just mad that Lucas and Elizabeth broke up.

Season 11 is heading in a great direction and I can't wait to see the stories unfold. The best is yet to come! Be sure the check it out!

Eggsellent Adventure!
heartie34930 April 2024
Warning: Spoilers
It's Easter in Hope Valley, a time of "new beginnings". Romance is in the air, and the sparks are flying between Nathan and Elizabeth, and Mike and Mei, who share their first kiss. And Lucas's old flame, Jeanette, arrives! She is a gorgeous vamp with secrets to spill, and he's obviously still affected by her. I hope to see more of her in future episodes! Rosemary is busy solving a mystery with Bill, and being a sounding board for Elizabeth. And we meet Mike's sister! The kids hunting for Easter Eggs was so much fun, but Nathan and Elizabeth's subtextual discussion of those eggs, while the TRUE subject is the status of their relationship .. was just so clever and cute. Absolutely loving this season.

Soap Valley also known as When Calls the Heart
sarahjhernandez29 April 2024
The train wreck that is S11 continues with the complete character assassination of Lucas Bouchard! While the performance of Chris McNally is outstanding, it is incomprehensible that to elevate a nonsensical Mountie/Teacher pairing the writers have made his character appear shady! They are catering to a partial fandom that has done nothing but barrage since the end of S8! The Series is no longer a feel good happy place, instead it has succumb to an alien invasion of the body snatchers as most characters are unrecognizable! The main character of Elizabeth Thornton has been reduced to a wishy washy fickle character who is no longer kind or likable. The Mountie Nathan Grant has yet to be assigned to Mountie duties as he spends his time making googly eyes at the school teacher when not appearing shirtless...the "beefcake" of Hope Valley!

Their alleged romance is immature with a teenage quality that is unbecoming of these actors! A snooze fest with repeated and rehashed scenes of previous seasons! There is no originality in the writing!

There is no character that has been spared the stroke of this show runner's pen. A partial fandom continues to be gaslighted and given ridiculous explanations as to why a flip needed to occur for a longevity that is not promised as seen in the ratings of this season!

WCTH Heart is no more than a common soap opera and a poor one at that. Your legacy is everything and this Series should have maintained its integrity and ended after Season 9!

Spiders indeed!

Warning: Spoilers
This was such an enjoyable episode. It was great seeing all the Hope Valley kids out and about looking for Easter eggs especially Little Jack and Lily. The relationship between Nathan and Elizabeth is progressing nicely (slow burn) as is the Mike Hickam and Mei Su, who have finally shared their first kiss. I think the biggest development was the entrance of the elusive Jeanette, who half of Hope Valley thought was a sweet little old lady. She most definitely is not!! Jeanette gives off dangerous vibes/energy right away. And the revelation that she was once engaged to Lucas was surprising to Elizabeth. Jeanette made sure she told Elizabeth herself, which says she has a plan and will be back. She alluded to going clean (like Lucas,) which immediately asked the question; what was Lucas into before seeking a new start in Hope Valley.

Loving Season 11 So Far!
moonshadowranch2 May 2024
Thanks to Lindsay and her writers for weaving beautiful stories for the citizens of Hope Valley! Nathan and Elizabeth's love story is moving a bit slow but I'm loving the build up. The mystery of who shot Lucas with Bill and Rosemary hot on the culprit's trail is exciting. And Jeanette! A spider for sure! Mike and Mei are so cute!

Looking forward to meeting Joseph's brother as well. It's unfortunate those unhappy with Lucas's arc are trashing the show, writers and other characters. I'm hopeful if they give the season a chance, and watch for more than one character, they'll be pleased with the outcome.
