This is actually not bad, although the ongoing storyline takes a bit of a knock. It's not a surprise that last episode's cliffhanger gets forgotten about after a couple of lines of dialogue. But the good guy/bad guy divide is starting to blur and it's not clear if that's deliberate. The more psychotic break-outs we encounter, the more it feels like Ultra have a point, even if Jedekiah is enough of a monster to make us not root for them completely, and not for the first time they're treated as a convenient solution as the Tomorrow People deliver the latest batch of villains to them on a plate.

The rejigging of character roles continues to work well.Cara is doing a decent job as leader, pulling off a decent coup to end Julian's plans. John works far better in the role of big brother mentor to Charlotte than he did as an angsty rebel leader.Stephen gets another great moment with Cara and also gets to show up his basic decency by trying to keep a bunch of Ultra trainees from getting their powers stripped in another of Jedekiah's eugenics programmes. We also meet Hillary, who could turn out to be an uneasy ally or a new enemy and whose actions after her last scene could well determine which.Shame about the flashbacks though, which aren't as compelling as they were probably meant to be. (And now throwing someone off a balcony doesn't count as killing them. Then Julian complains he can't kill Cara and the audience go "Well, why don't you chuck her off a balcony like you did with that guy just now?")
