Best Episode by Far!
galet0922 February 2014
Warning: Spoilers
I started watching this series just last week and had to catch up with former episodes online. I was hooked by the second one unlike the series Grimm which I gave up after watching six eps and finally realizing that there just was not much character development or depth to the lead characters.

The Tomorrow People on the other hand has a lot going for it. I pray that it will be renewed by the CW because I don't get into watching a lot of series. The only other one I watch regularly is my favorite Supernatural.

As for this show, this episode was absolutely riveting! Of course they ended it on a cliffhanger and I can't wait to see the next one on Feb. 26th which just happens to be my daughters birthday. (easy to remember)

As for the plot, Lots of twists and turns and betrayals and shocking information. But nothing prepared me for the ending, where we find out that Stephen's Mother is a TP. I didn't see that coming at all and that's what made that last scene so shocking.

I kept wondering through this whole series when Stephen would tell his Mother what has been going on with him, and it seemed like he came really close to it this time. But then you find out the evil Founder who I just love to hate BTW, reneges on his promise to clear Astrid from Ultra's radar and instead sends the kill squad to not only kill her but it was plain to see they would have killed her Father AND Stephen's own mother.

I also am enjoying the story line between Cara and John. Cara I feel should not have been voted in as a leader. She's SO not a leader, and I totally agreed with John and what he said about him continuing to make decisions when he knows it's the right thing to do, no matter who is the top dog. I mean for Cara to tell John to leave just burned me up. John has done SO much and is so necessary and valuable to their cause and people, to have him up and leave is just plain ludicrous.

Which shows Cara knows nothing about being a true leader. She knows John's capabilities and strengths and his value and she would let him walk out because her ego is damaged. For me this was the best episode I've seen yet by far. Hope to see many more.

They're just making this up as they go along, aren't they?

Warning: Spoilers
So, you've got the Founder, played by a British actor with an American accent. What's the most ridiculous thing you could do now?Cast a Canadian actress as his daughter and have her play it with a British accent. Then, just to make absolutely certain that the British audience knows you've never been to their country, have her point out that they call high schools secondary schools in Britain(which they do, but they also call them high schools), then describe her secondary education in non-British terms like graduation, valedictorian and school newspaper. Why not just say the character's American? And why cast an actress that looks enough like Hillary to be confusing?

The main plot involves Stephen trying to trade Cassie for Astrid. There's some attempt to revive the romantic subplots with John and Cara's random kiss and Cara's random jealousy over Stephen's connection with Cassie. Then, the first cracks show in Cara's leadership as she decides to change plans mid-episode and put Stephen in danger.John, er, saves him(well, convinces Cassie to save him technically)but then decides to act like a petulant brat when Cara tries to pull him into line and gets himself kicked out.Perhaps it's a sign that neither of them is entirely comfortable with this role reversal but it's a shame since it showed potential.

And then we have the ending which finally answer the question of who the Tomorrow Person is in Stephen's family.Well, it explains the connection between him and Cassie but when you look at previous episodes, the only way to reconcile is to decide that Marla is a complete douche who enjoys messing with her son's head and put her boyfriend's life in danger for a laugh. What a bitch.

Oh...and why, when Stephen sees the Founder in the street, does he disappear down an alley instead of staying in the open where he can't try anything?

Dumb script
butravi14 September 2020
In a nutshell, script or story is dumb. A group tries to kill you, but you escape in the last second... The very next day you meet those killers and surprise, you act normal and join their group. That's way tougher to believe than superpowers (atleast for me). Maybe some will accept any twist in a story for dramatic effect, but makes it impossible to relate to any such characters, if you have average intelligence. It's similar to arrow, flash etc, where dramatic retelling of the happenings repeat. This slow down the story, till it gets boring. The idea is interesting, how will few humans who develop superpowers will cope with it, but along with superpowers, they seem to lose basic intelligence.. and that completely makes this show unwatchable.
