Wedding Bells

Bojack, realizing he is in love with Diane does what he can to sabotage her wedding to Mr. Peanutbutter. Todd, as usual, misunderstands the motives until he does a kind of quantum physics rundown of circumstances. Meanwhile, Princess Caroline falls for a man who is actually three kids standing in a trench coat. At least he is a good listener. This is hilarious episode.

I disagree with the negative opinion of this episode. Personally I found this to be such a good combination of what BoJack Horseman does best - stupid comedy, and thought provoking, cynical takes on life. The storyline of Princess Carolyn falling for the "adult man" is hilarious, and yet at the same time gives BoJack a chance to deliver some really interesting lines about relationships.

A Symphonic Portrait of Insecurity and Desperation

The tenth episode of BoJack Horseman's first season, titled "Horse Majeure," is a continuation of the previous episode's cliffhanger. BoJack is still trying to stop Diane's wedding, and he recruits Todd and Princess Carolyn to help him. Meanwhile, Mr. Peanutbutter's license is suspended, and he hires Todd as his personal driver.

The episode explores the themes of love, relationships, and self-sabotage. BoJack is driven by his fear of being alone and his desire for love, which causes him to try and sabotage Diane's wedding. However, his actions ultimately have unintended consequences that force him to confront his own issues and the impact of his actions on others.

Symbolism is also used effectively in the episode. BoJack's restaurant, Elefante, serves as a metaphor for his life. The restaurant is a reflection of his desire to be successful and admired, but it is ultimately empty and unfulfilling. This mirrors BoJack's own life, where he has achieved success but is still deeply unhappy.

The episode's style is consistent with the show's signature blend of humor and darkness. The humor provides levity to the heavy themes, but the darkness is never far away. The show's use of anthropomorphic animals also adds to the humor, but it also serves as a commentary on the flawed nature of humanity.

Overall, "Horse Majeure" is a strong episode that effectively continues the season's overarching themes and explores the consequences of BoJack's actions. It is a great example of the show's unique style and use of humor and darkness.

Really Good episode with comedy that makes the episode even better and character writing that gets better and better from Bojack, Todd, Mr Peanutbutter, etc.

Bojack sends Todd on mission to undermine Mr Peanutbutter and Diane's future plans.

This episode has good comedy and character moments.

This one has more outrageous antics from Bojack and his narcissistic tendencies. The writers include some interesting self reflection near the end, which has some quite memorable dialogue from the character.

I like Todd's moment of clarity around a certain situation from a previous episode which is good consistency from the writer, showing there is a clear plan for the overarching narrative. This makes me look forward to how the show will unfold.

For me the Little Rascals joke regarding the "adult" character is reasonably good, but for me not funny enough to be as recurring as it is in this episode. I will reserve judgement for how it continues play out.
