A Review from a Die-hard Fan
A_Different_Drummer28 June 2016
1. Done a lot of reviews here, seen a lot of TV. Seems like just yesterday I was watching Richard Boone in Have Gun Will Travel. Banshee reminds me a lot of that show. It seemed to be one thing but really was another entirely. It, like Banshee, was a restless show, never content to stay in one place, always looking to break new ground. Banshee is my own personal top-rated TV action/drama show of all time. I think it is ground-breaking, and I think parts of it will be imitated for years to come by lesser writers and producers.

2. Already said in an earlier review that Banshee (aside from comments above) is one of the only shows in the history of TV to voluntarily walk away. Wow. That takes guts. Interviews with the producers said that this season, the wrap up, was simply "for the fans."

3. On behalf of the fans I thank you. Going into this season, the writers and producers knew in advance they could not top themselves. How could they? I will never forget the episode with the MMA star that Hood has to tune up ... because no one else will. I will never forget the episode with the Jason Stratham clone. I will never forget the women of the series who actually were (for the first time in TV) as dangerous as they were beautiful. I will never forget the explosive violence that usually popped up out of nowhere and shocked viewers who believed (mistakenly) that they knew in advance where an episode was headed.

4. Knowing they could not top themselves, the producers kept their promise to the letter. This last season was really for the fans only and it was a gentle goodbye. I confess I will really miss this series. I take comfort in the fact that any cast regular from Banshee can walk into any production office in Hollywood and instantly be offered a part. Banshee is more than a show. It is a pedigree. It is proof of greatness. And it it is part of TV history.

This is how a masterpiece of a show should end
boss_dany10 July 2019
Warning: Spoilers
I admit this season the weakest out of them all, but this was still amazing, i respect how the writers ended the show , my only complain will be about killing Shoban and Emmet, i loved those characters and i think they should've made it to season 4. Really sad that only Brock was left alive from the original team. But i liked the addition of Bunker. The way they wraped up the characters arc was amazing, the betrayl Proctor faced, the ressurection of Job, it was brilliant! Also the last dialogues were 10/10. I will always remember this show with a smile on my face. All the respect to the crew and the cast!

"The past has kept you locked up long enough"

Warning: Spoilers
It's hard to write something that sums up everything about this show in just one hour, but the writers sure made it as perfectly as it could possibly be.

An ending that reminded me a lot of Justified for all the good reasons, they chose this hour to gives us everything we loved about this show.

The episode itself had two amazing fights with two very dramatic endings that honor characters the way they should be honored on every show, with a lot of powerhouse heartfelt performances from the entire cast.

This is possibly one of the best endings I've ever seen, Banshee got to prove us wrong, made a lot of people angry when it seemed they were a little bit lost being so close to the end, but even after being screwed by their own network, the writers wrapped up two seasons in one with a short-time span and still managed to make it awesome.

Thank you Banshee, cast and crew, everyone involved, for an amazing show.

"Maybe it's about choosing another road down here with the rest of us"

Warning: Spoilers
I guess if i had to put a word describing this show it would be "Intense" I swear every episode has the goose bumps bumping, and you on the edge of your seat. This show surprised me, maybe because i didn't know Cinamax did shows but this was extremely well done.

It's disappointing it didn't last longer but i respect the show for knowing their shelf life, and not to sacrifice story for ratings like The Walking Dead. The characters we're well chosen, and the story was well told. The characters they decided to keep/write off we're well played.

The change in finale was a clutch move because originally Hood was suppose to die however they felt he deserved to finally have a life of his own away from the chaos, prison, and the daily occurrence of his life. Him riding off how he came in could not have been told better, and i like the mystery of his name kept under wraps.

A pleasant surprise this show has been, and though the ride was short it was never more intense then when that crazy, nameless warrior came to Banshee, Pennsylvania.

A great ending to an underrated gem of a show
encinasbrandon-8759024 July 2022
A really well done ending to a show that I have fallen in love with in the past few weeks. Only 38 episodes, yet it didn't really feel too short. Honestly the fact that they decided to end the show on their terms is pretty rare nowadays, but I'm glad they did because it would've definitely been bloated after a while. It's gunna be weird watching the Boys now after seeing Starr in this role, I'll always see him as "Lucas Hood" lol. I don't really wanna go on and on about the show, just that the characters were just great, especially Job, it's gunna feel kinda strange not hearing Job's attitude or Sugar's words of wisdom anymore, but like I said I think they ended it perfectly. Kudos to these guys, and I'm so very glad I decided to watch it on a whim. So long Banshee, it was a great ride.

Perfect send-off to an amazing show

I recently binged Banshee on HBO MAX and this series finale was perfect. It had character arcs coming to an end, sadness, tragedy, joy, everything you would want in a finale. This show was wrapped up with the upmost love and care.

Another masterful finale!

Warning: Spoilers
I discovered this show in the middle of the third season, when my friend was into it. I watched the final episode of S3, instantly hooked by the showdown at the military base. I later binged first three in time for S4 to start. Yes, this season wasn't as good as the first three, but it wrapped up the character arcs the way a great show does! I wasn't a fan of the Dawson the junkie, or the devil worshipper, but they had to find a storyline to end the show! Bunker finally killed his brother! Brock becomes a real badass sheriff finally. I'm just rambling now.. The ending was great! I still hate we don't know Hood's real name tho!

First I like to thank Antony Starr for recommending me to watch this show, I never heard about this show but watching it, this was a blast. this is one of the best shows ever created.

Thanks to the writers who created such a amazing show that will be close o my heart. the ending was satisfying and good.

Lucas Hood, Job, Proctor, Carrie, Job, Sugar, Rebecca, Burton are the badass characters ever created. I don't know how much I miss this show, I miss this more than Breaking Bad.

In one word, the finale was a masterpiece. this show deserves more recognition.

Sheriff hood

Warning: Spoilers
Another series finale in the books. And another disappointment for me. All the bad guys die, none of the good guys die. Thought that only happened in marvel movies. Guess not. Hood deserved to die. Should of died. He is the cause of most of the turmoil in banshee to begin with it. It would only be fitting that he dies in a hero sort of way. But nope. He survives a beating and magically gets a shot of adrenaline (minus the actual shot) to win. Just poor writing. Does he have a superpower we don't know about? Maybe he can get his blank kicked and still manage to win? Is that a super power? Is on this show apparently. No wonder he was cast as the main super hero for the boys. The bunker storyline was bleh. I felt no sympathy either way. Calvins wife cheated on him with his brother. Brother didn't seem to care. Cop bunker got little brother in the nazi gang. His fault in first place. Blah blah blah. Wife apparently just loves nazis cause her daddy did too. Whatever. Neither deserve sympathy. Good ending for sugar and jobe. Proctor took a Scarface styled ending. Pretty good there. Overall the series was ok, something to watch. I'd give it a 7 overall. Coulda been better minus some unnecessary cleavage and ridiculous plot points.

What the beep was this beep

An awful season in comparison.

This season was often mind-numbingly slow turning into something else detective, missing persons and serial killers, leading to a canceled show that is over now. A show that the scriptwriters haven't wrote an ending. 3 guess why? It's Dexter time as its heroes ride off into the sunset giving some psychobabble from its Pulp fiction of yee though I walk through the valley I will turn into a mountain man from any epiphany sought, and then the villains will scarface. All because any pot armor made the bullet-proof invincible. Yawn

A terrible ending from an otherwise okay show. A balance requires its opposites.
