Once an experimental pioneer in narrative porn movies, James Avalon more recently has settled into a less stimulating but still laudable series of conventional porn features that add that little something to what in other hands devolves into all-sex content. This fifth volume of Sweet Sinner's variety series (each release covers different relationships, rather than the rut of rival series like "My Daughter's Boyfriend" and "My Mother's Best Friend") concerns a middle-age crisis for airplane pilot Steven St. Croix, who's lost his job thanks to being drunk on duty.
The "Lolita" type structure has him narrating the story from his point-of-view, even though he is a less than sympathetic character. His marriage to India Summer is falling apart, while his slow burn attraction to India's daughter Karla Kush is leading inevitably to sex, per Sweet Sinner custom telegraphed by the title.
The characters' relationships and behavior is interesting enough to keep the show alive, and hopefully allay the porn viewer's tendency to skip past the dialog scenes in order to get down to the XXX meat. Both Carter Cruise and Jade Nile liven things up in supporting roles, while Kush is rather adorable as the precocious leading lady.
