This episode indeed was bittersweet, with its happy and tragic moments. It being some time since I saw the first 2 seasons, it took awhile for me to recall exactly the details of what came before. Given full sentience, we see how closely the synths compare to humans. This is a complicated story, with a number of subplots paralleling the main theme of synth survival in a human-dominated society. We are still to learn if the synths will evolve to a "higher plane," as is hinted at by some philosophical characters.

Warning: Spoilers
This season is not quite living up to the quality of the first two, but the final few moments proved that Humans knows how to tell a good story.

They really have built up the world of synths here and made it a dangerous one for them. That made the "death" at the end mean that much more.

Good, but nothing special here.

Warning: Spoilers
The recap at the beginning of the episodes this season definitely detracts from the opening. We begin here with this episode with Agnes' backstory and what happened to her on awakening day. She's telling Max. And Max asks Agnes about where she went when she left the camp. Agnes lies to Max and tells him that she did NOT find the synths. Max doesn't trust Agnes however and he locks Agnes up with orders she is to be kept confined until after the Commission has left.

+1 Star for the opening sequence here......even with the annoying recap.

The Commission arrives. This should be good. Dryden, the dude in charge of the Commission makes a point of telling Max they are there under a premise of 'no contact' . Max has his own condition as well, no orange eyed synths inside. The commission agrees, accompanied by their armed goon-squad of course.

Niska still on the hunt for the synth who planted the bomb.

Anita gets knocked down outside her place by protestors. And guess who shows up to help her up?? Oh it's ED. Anita brings ED inside her place, and promptly knocks his a$$ out.

-1 Star for the hand extended scene. Stupid, Anita extending a hand out without looking. And the police let ED through their line to get to her? Didn't make sense.

Joe invites Toby over to visit and Toby declines.

The guard synth Max posted on Agnes is told a lie to go away. For synths being unable to lie, they sure do lie well and quite often, especially to each other.

So ED after what he did to MIA shows up at her place? What a dolt.

And Agnes, she is intercepted on her way to shank Lord Dryden by the doctor synth, saving Max's behind.

Dryden and the Commission seem quite impressed by what they encounter at Max's camp. And Dryden even shakes Max's hand at the exit photo op. And Dryden congratulates Laura as well.

+1 Star for the good result of the Camp visit

And Max goes back inside and gets insulted by Agnes. I like his response of locking her in a dark storage container. Remind her of who she is and where she came from.

Niska captured by the bar bomber when she shows up to get him, she turns the tables on him and destroys him. But he is not the leader, just a pawn. So Niska still has work to do.

Mia sleeps with ED. LEO is going to release a code that will point away from the guy Vijay who got arrested for releasing the CODE. Mia tells ED she can't leave, she has to finish what she started.

Niska shows up disguised as an Orange Eye to see Astrid in the hospital.

At the end of the episode, Voss aka Karen aka Beatrice protects Sam after Sam cuts his hand and someone sees him on the street having blue blood. Voss takes the blood, and the blame on herself. And the crowd starts beating her.

Laura has come on to Neil pretty strongly, but even after dinner and wine Neil rejects her advances and sends her home. Laura appears pretty hurt by this.

And Sam shows up at Joe's place. This doesn't bode well. Sam directs Joe to where Sam cut his hand and the crowd started beating Voss. Joe finds a trail of blue blood leading to a beat to 'death' Voss body lying there alone with no one else around.

-1 Star for that illogic. In a synth free village a dead synth lies alone?? They would have called the police. They would have called the media. The Mayor. Probably would have called the Queen herself. Dumb
