Yin and Yang
Barry_Garrick1 October 2018
Firstly I must applaud the writers for being self aware enough to take this season in a very different direction from the first. Most of the criticism from season 1 was about Danny's moping around and claiming he is ''the immortal iron fist''. They addressed that issue right from the start by having Danny be more calm and assured.

This show is titled ''Iron Fist'' and so should not just be centred around Danny and Rand Enterprises, which was a mistake they made in season 1, but instead about the true purpose of the Iron Fist. This series made me ask whether the fist is really a sacred weapon or a burden on the wielder. Overall, a much improved season in terms of cinematography and choreography with a more controlled plot

Fist Full of Solace
Lejink27 January 2021
For the second series of "Iron Fist", it was pretty much all change. Danny and Colleen are very much an item and she indeed has pledged to give up all ties with her Hand background and any form of martial arts, even her teaching school. She and Danny now live in New York as a couple, although Danny still patrols the streets trying to put down the fires between the warring Triad factions.

As for Ward and Joy Meachum, their life-changes are even more pronounced. She it seems now carries a grudge against both her brother and Danny, for not telling her about her evil dad's return from the dead in the previous series, to the extent that she is willing to assist Davos in his desire to take the Iron Fist from Danny for himself, which will involve a trio of modern Macbeth type sisters who run a tattoo parlour and some key artefacts from K'un Lun in a weird, ritualistic blood transfusion. Ward meantime is fighting his own demon of drug addiction, where he breaks one of the golden rules by getting romantically involved with his mentor, who just happens to be an attractive female about his own age, wouldn't you know. That apart, he's the one to form ties with Danny although his relationship with Joy, despite his best efforts, founders down to her lingering resentment.

A new character who has a major bearing on events is a former ex-soldier, Walker, a trained killer who after being traumatised in a Black Op gone wrong now harbours a multiple personality disorder as she flips back and forth between a ruthless, ninja-trained gun for hire, in Joy's pay, to her kinder self, who after a chance encounter in the Village, is actually well-disposed to Danny. These elements are all stirred together in the pot as the Iron Fist changes hands, no pun intended, not once but twice, and Danny and Colleen, with the assistance of persistent cop Misty, not only try to keep the peace between the warring gangs, but also straighten out a younger teenage group caught in the cross-fire and of course resolve the major threat of Davos, who goes all Judge Dredd with his new-found power, although clearly he's not heard the one about what absolute power does...

With little or no focus on the high finance backdrop of the Rand Enterprises wheeling and dealing from the first series, this slightly shorter series also seemed to up the action quotient. I personally thoroughly enjoyed the ride, my only criticism perhaps being that Danny / Iron Fist too often seemed subsidiary to the main action but with its continued high-production values, strong action set-pieces and some good acting, especially from Tom Pelphrey as the conflicted Ward, it's a shame that Netflix pulled the plug on this iteration of the character continuing further on his journey, especially as it was well set-up for this in the last minutes of this finishing episode.

Never mind, I at least got to see some of these characters again in the Marvel Defenders crossover team-up with Daredevil, Jessica Jones and Luke Cage, which I also appreciated. So I've now watched, if in a kind of back-side forward way the series of all these characters bar Luke Cage's which I'll now seek out with strong anticipation.

Not as good as the first season but it is still a good Netflix show ,, and the finale was really thrilling ..
Aktham_Tashtush12 September 2018
So here-s the thing ,, the show did not come as the strongest on Netflix since it all started last year ,, but the story itself is thrilling and so engaging ,, even with some dull moments here and there ,, Marvel's heroes always tend to do well on the small screen.

In terms of action sequences, this season the fights scenes are much better than the first one ,, the action were always heightened and even the cinematography looked much better .

so the things i didn't digest this season ,, Joy Meachum's playing the villain ::: Joy constantly points out that she wants to make Danny pay for coming back into her and Ward's life and turning everything upside down, she does have him to thank for getting rid of not only her abusive, manipulative father ... it was all confusing at first , then i just decided to move on and play along.

Mary or Walker character didn't really make a massive impact on the show beyond being a formidable fighter. Her story arc isn't overly interesting.

What's good and hopeful though,, is the after credits scene ... just made the ending a bit better ... Danny gets his fist back .. and the Iron fist trademark pistols was a nice scene ,, this opens a lot possibilities next year .. Add tot that the probable spin off "Daughters of the Dragon" which to be honest i'm not that excited about ,, i got a lot TV shows on my plate right now. :D :D

Breathtaking
matheusdrl8 September 2018
Warning: Spoilers
I actually liked its first season, despite all the negative reviews we all know about. The second season came with big surprises in character development that I think some people will despise. The choice to make Colleen the new Iron Fist, and her discovering a bit of her heritage made wonder what's 3rd season will be like. Ward's storyline was definitely the best improved, whilst Joy's was kinda weird. I hope this new relationship with Walker can bring about something more believable towards her. Danny was certainly more mature in all his actions, which proved him to be better than he was during the 1st season. Finally, I hope Colleen can really embrace who she really is, making this show even greater.

Great series
cchristianson-0510426 September 2018
Warning: Spoilers
So season 1 was good, it wasn't great. Some just didn't get it. Personally I rather enjoyed it.

Season 2 takes it up to a whole other level. The plot is solid, the cast is great. By the end you really have to like how Ward's character has evolved. I also like the fact that in defenders I thought that Danny Rand came off a little to petulant, in iron fist season 2 the character has found his center, and I think is much better played. While Davos is a bit extreme I felt they explained his orgin and how his mind set became what it was quite well.

If after watching season 2 and you are not hoping they do a season 3 then you really should just give up on MCU on netflix. This was as good as any I've seen and I've watched them all.

Genuinely good writing and amazing actors.
Icklevix12 September 2018
Some really clever people took the best parts of the first series and really built on them. The Mary/Walker character was amazing, really nuanced and subtle. Colleen's character developed brilliantly, particularly in the scenes with Misty. I struggled with Jessica Jones because of the lack of a big bad, there is a tricky balance between plot and character arc and I felt that series two tipped too far to the latter. But this balanced the two brilliantly. Even Ward was less annoying. I loved it and watched it in two sittings.

Use the source material at your disposal
HayesXII10 September 2018
Warning: Spoilers
I really don't understand these writers. It's like they hire everyone BUT those that really know what they're writing about. Iron Fist has so much material to use and instead we get this. Who is your target audience? It can't be real fans. And, if not I get it. I guess it's more of them than of us. This season was better than one by a country mile. But, putting so much focus on colleen and then giving her the Iron Fist was too much. You're passing around the Iron Fist waaay too easily. And, why make Danny such a idiot?

A Duel of Iron
bobcobb3017 October 2018
Warning: Spoilers
Giving Colleen the Iron Fist could be interesting, but I expect she will lose it back to Danny, or give it back, if a third season happens.

I hate the ongoing modern trend of wrapping up this season's storylines in the penultimate episode, or early in the finale, and then spending the rest of the time building new stories.

That's what we got here. They rushed the scene with Ward and Danny at the end and didn't give us much to look forward to in the future.

Why do the producers stray from the comics so much?
jeepyjb28 October 2018
Warning: Spoilers
What a BS pandering end to a decent series. I love the reference to Sokovia, and Alice Eve was a huge standout in the entire second season. She was scary intimidating. I hope that they reestablish Danny's legacy in the inevitable "Heroes for Hire" that will bring in his relationship with the Avengers and Black Panther.

Not The Season Finale I Was Expecting
MekkaMax1 October 2018
Warning: Spoilers
To be honest, there were some alright episodes in this season especially episode 6, but this season finale just did not do it for me. The final battle was over in the first 20 minutes or so and the rest of it was just ending various character arcs. I would have been fine with an 80 minute episode 9 instead. By the end, I was left kinda surprised and disappointed with the choices they made here. Why would they give the fist to Colleen and why would Danny have gun fu if he doesn't have the fist? It's things like this that just leave me as shocked as I was with Luke Cage's season 2 finale. At this point, I'm kinda scared for Daredevil season 3.

Okay what?
nored-1410425 September 2020
Warning: Spoilers
I'm probably the only person who liked season 1 because I thought of it has a origin story so it had its moments but i still liked it. Now season 2 was really good up until the last 2 episodes. I've never seen a main character so damn weak like they made Danny. Then he gives up his iron fist to Colleen, yeah that's pretty comic book accurate Netflix! Horrible writing man

It had so much potential....
ydarj9 September 2018
Warning: Spoilers
Just finished the 2nd season... i can only say, shame on the writers! It had so much potential... but they screwed up again. Those 30 sec. of Daredevil promo were better than all of the 10 episodes. First episode was good, i can say the best one, then it bored me to death the rest of the episodes. They call this show Iron Fist and they use the Fist only 2-3 times the whole show....Danny except ep 1 and maybe 2 he didnt use that fist anymore. Then the writers decide to give Colleen the Iron Fist and let her fight against Davos in the finale. This was so bad.(and believe it or not, i liked the first season). Thank God Daredevil is coming this year

Netflix template
gadix11 September 2018
All the shows of Netflix and even some of the others that not in marvel universe have the same template Its all in the same location, they use the most of the production budget on 3 episodes the first one, one in the middle and in the last one (some explosive, car flying wall breaking etc...) The first and last episodes are the only ones that interesting, Netflix dragging all the show on 13-10 episode its fill with bad writing that give the feeling that the writers had to wrote something (or maybe its kind of AI that write all the show under the same template) Regarding locations, its always the same scenery same houses or same streets, and for me it gives me the feeling its low budget series All the dialogs between the characters are the same in all show, the good vs the bad guys, the relationships, the sidekicks Even the characters are the same the (super)hero, friend (sidekick) ,lover ,bad guy (who used to be in his past) All the Netflix shows uses flashbacks all the time And one episode to understand the villain history and motive At the end of every episode they put cliffhanger, to make us want to see the next episode right away and also in the last episode of the season And also in marvel universe the opening theme is very similar in all the shows

Sorry for my bad English , I not used to write in English But had to write what I think about Netflix template that getting on my nerves

So disappointing ... Almost gave it a 1 star (Spoiler)
aqcm199714 September 2018
So not-inspiring and disappointing. Coleen is a pretty bad over-actress ... the ending just ruined the already struggling series. Bad enough Davos the 5'2" man was the antagonist, but ending just sealed the deal. Mary Walker, Ward, and Misty made the show interesting. How people rated this episode above 4 is pretty dumbfounding. Struggled to not give spoilers.

So bad. It just kept getting worse
scoops2312 September 2018
Warning: Spoilers
Two stars only because the Ward and Joy characters were well cast and interesting. The fact the show went to so far away from the comic stories were disappointing but I could live with that. The focus on Colleen getting the first, eh ok maybe I can work with that. However the writing was so bad with so many holes that it the 10 story arc was a steaming pile of garbage. The characters fighting skills and powers were never consistent. It was awful. Colleen's acting is very bad and she isn't a character that's easy to root for. Missy was written into to the story line and it felt forced (obviously so they can put her and Colleen together). I just don't think the ratings will be good at all. Alice Eve's characters would have been better suited for the Punisher. Just stupid to have her waver from good guy to bad guy. The one eyed driver? Come on. I guess I expected so much more from this series. Jessica Jones was good. Luke Cage was good. Daredevil was great. Compared to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the Netflix shows are a big disappointment. The prime issue is sloppy writing that's not consistent. In addition to cheesy dialog. You can't create conflict and drama with lousy writing. The cinematography was good and always in for these shows. That's the best part.

wasted 20 episodes watching this failed series
louiethepitt2 November 2018
Warning: Spoilers
It is a good thing this was canceled, at the end the auto-Destruction of this series was completed in that final episode, it was a sleeping pill, the acting wasn't much better... even at the end they change the lead from Danny to his girlfriend that for the love of God I can't even remember her name..all the rules about the heart of the dragon are broken just to accommodate that ending...the first season was okish...I was willing to give it a chance...but this second season proved me wrong and the last episode was just the producers of the show pushing the Self-destruct button...3 weeks later it was announced this is Canceled, same goes for luke cage and just in Daredevil is out... only Jessica jones is not announced but wow was that 2nd season even worts that Iron Fist's 2nd season.

trickks1318 September 2018
The season 1 was great but this season was awful. Hardly any fight scenes going on. Really hard to follow. Paul Rand needs to buff up and stop being such a baby. He needs to spend some quality time with Luke Cage

Colleen's Fists.
jamericanbeauty1 March 2022
Warning: Spoilers
The show is called Iron Fists, not Colleen's Fists. No one asked for this. I don't like her. I don't like her resting b-tch face. I'm not a Jessica Henwick fan. Rewriting history to say the iron fists was her destiny all along passed down by a descendant, a female descendant of course, is pathetic. Danny Rand became a side character in his own show. Terrible. I watched the penultimate episode in Sept 2020. It was so bad that I'm just finishing the finale episode today before it exits Netflix. I was curious to see how the series ended and it didn't disappoint my low expectations. Tom Pelphrey seems like he's in a different show because his acting is too good for this show. Joyless Joy was pointless. Mary/Walker was pointless. The last minute of the episode in Japan was the only good scene.

The worst ever season finale
Leofwine_draca3 October 2021
Without a doubt the worst season finale I've ever seen of any show. It appears that they ran out of money here because we close with interminable chit-chat and an overly laboured set-up for a third season that never happened, thank goodness. I'm out, thankfully!

Iron fisting.
ThunderKing612 January 2021
Netflix marvel is trash with the exception of the Punisher.

I skipped most of ep 1 and just jumped to the last two eps and enjoyment was absent.

Netflix marvel lacked energy because when I watched Netflix marvel shows I felt so dull. Even thinking about Netflix marvel shows with the exception of the Punisher makes me feel lame.

Verdict.: yes daredevil was lame too. Ben Affleck DD was more entertaining.
