Warning: Spoilers
I was in town long enough to see the Ring of Silence- it was shot near my hometown so I figured I had to show up for the world premiere. I knew or somehow figured (by the poster?) abuse and clandestine relationships would be a part of the theme. As the movie continued on, though- having known no more than that - I was shocked (and relieved) that there was something much darker and insidious taking place in this film. I was able to experience some vicarious fear through the character, April (I'm more frightened by horrors resembling reality than a poltergeist: lol) and some enjoyable, shameless power-plays through characters, Luke and Rachel. Brandon Butler's villainous portrayal was a more than pleasant surprise, as I think this is the kind of role I think he will come to master as his career progresses. It was also great seeing Daneisha Turnball acting in a film since she's primarily involved in music and she sold her role quite well. 7/10

Trafficking Survivor Says RING OF SILENCE Captures the Truth of Teen Trafficking
andi-1257225 April 2019
RING OF SILENCE is a magnificent representation of how stealth the sex trafficking "business" is among teens in America. As a sex trafficking survivor myself long before that term was ever used, I was riveted by the movie's authentic messaging and the incredible intuition Nicole Bowers Wallace had in order to produce this incredible "tool" for those of us trying to keep others from becoming victims - and possibly helping those who are victims to reach out for help. Beulah's Place rescues at-risk homeless teen boys and girls who have been severely abused, trafficked and criminally preyed upon. My husband and I founded Beulah's Place to help those who can't help themselves. This movie is an EPIC game changer for creating awareness. Every school, church, social organization, and community needs to show this film until every person has seen it. The greater the awareness, the greater chance we have of protecting others from depraved indifference. I cannot think of one thing Nicole Bowers Wallace missed that needed to be said in RING OF SILENCE. Sex trafficking is a $32 billion illegal enterprise in the U.S. It's in all 50 states. Here's your chance to act: Watch this movie NOW!!!

THE FILM EVERY PARENT SHOULD SEE
melindakbryce16 March 2019
Ring of Silence is a film that every mother, every father, everyone who loves a child must see. I have two teenage girls and a teenage boy. The story told in this film makes my heart ache, but it also makes me fully aware that at any moment, in any city, suburb, or small town in this country, a teenager just like April could be manipulated into human sex trafficking.

When I left the theater, there was a small group of women walking out crying. I because the film felt so real to them.

It felt real to me, too. I wanted to know the characters, to understand more about them and their lives. Brian J. O'Donnell's performance was remarkable, switching back and forth between adorable and dark. Detroit actress/singer Daeisha Turnbull was also a powerful force in the film. Watch it for the message, and watch it again for the artistry and quality of this film.
