I first was a bit confused watching this episode, as my prior concern was should I have watched End Game beforehand, but where in the "timeline" I was became the issue, as the eps normally coincide with the films.
I think I may have to rewatch to see if I missed something, but the last few minutes are just "Out of this World!"
I don't want to spoil anything, but yeah! Bring it on S.H.I.E.L.D.!

Takes abit until you really understand where were at right now, but thats alright.
The main problem Ibhave with this episode and probably the rest of the season, is that I hate it when shows/movie franchizes don't really expend their stories. We get a new villain, but why does he have to look like Coulson? I dont get it. Of course they know that people love seeing Clark Gregg, but I really don't like thar choice. He had his solid 5 seasons and he died and we were sad and it was good. But of course, in good old MCU fashion, they find a way to bring him back. AND not only him, they will obviously bring Fitz back... But I'm okay with that cause his story hadn't really ended when he died so that fine.
Other the that, solid episode, good visuals, Daisy kickin ass is always a pleasure to witness.
Solid 8 imo :)

Hard to rate the season off the one episode as it just set the tone and somebody tell me why aliens from space would teleport a truck into their landing place or . . . whatever, but it's the characters we know, some open questions and a villian introduced who threatens the entire world and something about a butterfly. Nice visuals, typical tense agent May and Mac in charge now and some new faces, and oh, some people are in "deep space" and daisy's blond. A nice opening episode. 8 stars and 100% tuning in next week.
Amazing, Worth the year we waited for it!

This show continues to re-invent itself and it is back with a bang! we get a lot of set up out of the way and we have a very interesting set of new characters and locations, the character moments are some of the best on TV especially with Simmons unraveling under the pressure of looking for Fitz. The VFx are off the charts and there is the usual comedic through line that keeps the episode fun and quick paced.
Stellar Opening Episode for the New Season!

Wow! This show continues to amaze me! As it has with previous seasons and the creative and fresh directions each has gone in, this new season does Not disappoint! Edgy, menacing threats and beautiful women, and Bad bad guys! I love how this show tries to top Itself each season and actually succeeds, how rare is that? Im hoping ghost rider comes back this time, the invulnerability and unstoppable force it embodied was a trip to behold...Daisy is looking oh so beautiful with even greater fighting skills and quake power levels that are off the scale scarey... she was almost not recognizable , as was Simmons....and someone makes a surprise appearance in a jaw dropping entrance! Man this show rocks! so glad the network was smart enough to let a great show prove its greatness!
AOS are back and they are stronger than ever!

Frankly, I was very skeptical about season 6. The show started because of Coulson and now that he sacrificed himself, I didn't think they will be able to pull it off. But they did!!!
The first two episodes were amazing, like really good! Clark Gregg is back as Sarge and the Space arc are really interesting. Definitely looking forward to new episodes.
I would definitely recommend, you won't be disappointed.
Time and space confusion

So how did Fitz's capsule get light-years away in less than a year? Enoch says he was going to guard Fitz for 73+ years, and he was planning to be in the capsule for 74. Yet Mack says Daisy et al are light-years away.
Good start for the new season

The introduction of two separate storylines begs for some parts to be more interesting and some to be sort of bland depending on the viewer. I personally love the earth storyline right now. The space stuff was kind too Syfy channel for my liking. Still i really love seeing our characters grow over time so the whole episode is 8 outta 10 for me. Badass Daisy is a win no matter the location
Makes no reference to the Snapure

Warning: Spoilers
This contains some spoilers to Endgame so don't read if you haven't seen it.
After The Snap, we find out that the population of the earth drops by ~50%. They show a shot of NYC with far fewer people and eve has Cap mentioning that some whales are inhabiting the harbor again because of the much lower traffic in 2023. Black Widow even has a teleconference with the remaining heroes who fought at Wakanda plus Captain Marvel for status updates on so if they need to respond the remaining Avengers can help. I'm saying all this to say that this episode not only acts like The Snap never happened, but that strange anomalies that show up on shield's satellites somehow misses the Avenger's eyes? This is taking place a year after The Snap, they would have had the time to reconcile what they've lost and responded to this. Additionally there seems to be no loss in humans when we see the teams outside the Lighthouse. On top of that somehow no one on the team got Snapped away? I can understand that since they would have to be gone for the next 4 years/seasons but still, it seems like AoS is now separate from the bigger MCU because of these problems. This doesn't even address the other problems like Coulson being alive somehow but as a bad guy. I can get past that if they explain it well in the future episodes, but they need to take into account the MCU more than they are after such a monumental event as The Snap. I still have this episode an 8 for it being fairly solid, but if they don't address this issues then I'll have to lower the score on this and other episodes.

Missing a Lot of Pieces

Like last season the SHIELD team starts off in dire circumstances. Like last season the mood is dark. The characters are not in a happy place. And, it appears they are on the verge of another extinction event, but Enoch is not there to save them. While the acting is great, I have no enthusiasm for the plot. It's strange. The characters are there, but it does not seem like SHIELD.
Casting Clark Gregg to play a new character, someone named Sarge who kills a SHIELD agent, felt like a betrayal. Coulson was a fan favorite based on his appearances in Marvel films. I remember the t-shirts from the San Diego ComiCon in 2013 that said "Coulson Lives" after he was killed in the Avenger's movie. I understand having Coulson die, but surely he could have been recharged or resurrected. Why introduce a look-alike character who is just the opposite in terms of ... well ... character. Who is this Sarge? Why does he have to look and sound like Coulson? Orphaned twin? LMD? Clone from harvested DNA? Doppelganger from a parallel universe? None of those are good options. Is this a redemption story or did Gregg want to play a villain?
The episode especially lacks contextual exposition. It's a year after the last season. There's no mention of the situation after Avenger's Infinity War. The SHIELD team apparently wasn't affected by the snap of Thanos, or being out in the universe they weren't aware it happened. There is clearly a continuity problem. Where are we in the MCU timeline? The episode seems like the second part of a three-part story and we weren't shown the first part. I hope the series starts to make sense.

Warning: Spoilers
It took about 5 minutes for us to get a joke mocking last season. I am on board with that.
But the new setting here, still relying on space, and Coulson under cover are just not that interesting to me. Season 6 doesn't look too promising if this episode is any indication.
