Stupidest man alive vs zombie
sepit9121 April 2019
Don't know why producers wanted to make a episode of a very simple man, I would bet this kind of people would be eaten first.

Realistic, funny and irritating.

Warning: Spoilers
The whole series follows a theme of real people facing a devastating epidemic and NOT becoming shooting, martial arts, stunt driving experts out of pure desperation.

I like that the characters screw up often and make poor decisions. Sure, we all watch horror movies to see close shaves and ingenuity of the characters as they ninja their way to safety, punching through a thousand paper-maché zombie skulls.

I found BLACK SUMMER's interpretation spot on for me.

I love this episode with a bumbling guy somehow surviving despite his lack of planning, cowardice and blind fear sprinting with no parkour leaps of faith to help him along. Instead we got to see our worst nightmare: a single zombie fixated on hunting down and killing you. It's so unfair that he had the drop on the zombie several times and through simple environment based bad luck had the tables turned again and again.

I was equally laughing and groaning.

i thought this was the best episode
davidm-1413 April 2019
Practically silent, except for the heavy breathing, i thought this was the most tense episode. Basically reduced to one guy running away from a zombie for the full episode, it held my interest completely. Lance was the best character on that show.

Is he wearing eyeliner?
donttouchmeprimate25 July 2019
That's all I could think about every time we get a close - up of curly haired, bearded man's face.

It was too distracting. Couldn't even pay attention to the idiotic things he did in this episode, and OH BOY is this guy an idiot. How has he survived 6 weeks deep into a zombie apocalypse without considering cation of any kind?

Can anybody tell me if it was eyeliner or not?

I love this episode!

Warning: Spoilers
Yes, the guy is dumb and clumsy but that's what a regular person would be like.

The fact he managed to survive to the end of the episode is down to sheer luck. He got brave at the end when it was needed.

I'm rewatching the first season before I start the second. My memory of it is that it's bonkers, and now I've read that it's a prequel to Z Nation, I know why!

That episode was brilliant though.

My heart was in my mouth and I was trying not to look in places because I'm lame. I loved it!

For me better than twd and ftwd
booboodumdum14 January 2021
I foumd this more intense than most slow moving zombie shows.these zombies are fast and ravenous.I like how its played out on normal neighborhood streets etc, more realistic fear. Lance is unbelievably stupid and difficult to watch, but you will be screaming at your tv. Also, the kids in the school are unrealistic, that immediately after the start of a world wide zombie outbreak that a bunch of kids would already be twisted psychos.I hope season 2 the writing is better, and the characters are smarted. Also, its weird that theres very few zombies or people running around, yes the town was kinda evacuated, but still lance is running around streets and yelling for help and no zombies. Hey hollywood please make more apocalyptic zombie and virus shows and make them better than most of the crap out there.

Best episode so far
paulyjp14 April 2019
Warning: Spoilers
This seems an actual nod to Z-Nation with the main character being outsmarted by a zombie throughout.

At least this episode had some direction and tense moments.

One thing tho, the continuity is pretty terrible with the main character unable to use his right hand at all, to five minutes later the blood is all gone and he is using both hands to load a trolley and tapping his fingers!!!

But I did enjoy this compared to the previous episodes!

It could have been a good episode...
gemsstock14 April 2019
Warning: Spoilers
...if it were not for the stupidity of Lance, leaving all doors open behind him, having absolutely no plan how to survive this apocalypse. Well maybe there is some magic involved because his badly injured hand is miraculously healed within minutes.

Good show
greenjackle8 July 2022
Warning: Spoilers
The episode Alone. That Lance guy has to be the biggest idiot in the world. First he finds a double door with lots of carts to a lit grocery store. First open the first door. Then turn it off in the door their is a button. Then stack the carts so they are tall and wide between the doors. Then that is protected. Then check the back and make sure that was bolted up. Then the gate were the trucks back up to. He had an entire store to himself with water galore and food for a year or longer. Then when he gets the axe he loses it within seconds. His is the dumbest character ever and you hope he dies because we all know he is a hipster in real life that orders half foam grass fed milk coffees with home grown nutmeg.

Very tense episode ruined by character stupidity
CrowsEye0014 April 2019
Warning: Spoilers
After about the 4th time that this guy went through a door and didn't simply close it behind him to escape the zombie, I'd had enough. The tension was all forced and it became cartoonishly bad.

Extremely Tense !!!
mpboylanjr-5403812 April 2019
I started watching Black Summer because most. I'm intrigued when there are Zombie shows on. I'm not a huge fan of TWD after the first 2 seasons , and this show is much like the early TWD series. Now let me get to this episode because it's one of the most intense 40 minutes I've ever watched, and that's saying a lot. Just when you think the guy is safe he's running for his life. I was glued to the Television just waiting to see how he was going to hudini himself out of a bad situation. This show started a bit slow for me, but once this episode got going I was hooked. I think most will find this particular zombie thriller a notch above most others. Enjoy !!

Love it
neji-san26 May 2019
I loved it one guy alone in a Ghostown, chased by a single Zombie and the whole Episode this faint heartbeat Sound. Watched it over my soundbar and i Think that made a great difference. What Made it so intense for me was the Actor, he was frightened to death and every single scene i believed that he is just in panic and After all his stupid decisions, i was so curious how he will find his End. What almost ruined the Episode for me was his miracle Hand healing.

This moron had a entire grocery store to himself and didn't even try to lock or block the doors. I wish the zombies hurry up and kill these clowns

Excellent episode. Fear and loneliness. I thought this was much more interesting than the episodes with (small) groups of people.

How did his hand heal????
Hogkilla16 April 2019
Cmon editing department how do you have this guy slice his hand and then two seconds later it is totally healed. And where are all of the zombies? There should be a ton of these things running around. This show could be so much better.

Someone kill this guy already
nunocharles7519 April 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Many of us live in the real world. We encounter stupid people in real life all the time and think to ourselves, "How in the hell are you still alive?" We watch movies in hopes of escaping that reality, only to be forced to watch an episode where writers/directors collaborate to keep the stupidest guy on the planet alive. This mildly obese, beta male somehow makes every wrong decision, and yet he's still alive. I'm seriously rooting for the zombie at this point to catch him. It's like watching a Floyd Mayweather fight not because you like Floyd Mayweather, but because you can't stand Floyd Mayweather and you're hoping he finally gets knocked out. That's the feeling I have right now.

Idiot Alone

If this was meant to be an episode of the biggest idiot in the Apocalypse it succeeded. By the end I was actually rooting for the zombie.

Bedtime story for adults?
maximovlE17 April 2019
Tense? Really? If I met this idiot during an apocalypse I'd kill him myself.

Not seen this episode yet? Move along and find something better. Like watching paint dry.

A whole episode of some fool going shopping during an apocalypse, while doing nothing to take caution, and surviving. Total trash and an insult to viewers.
