Nina Arianda as Patty Solis-Papagian
TheFearmakers4 October 2019
Forgot how brilliant Nina Arianda as Patty Solis-Papagian is. From the beginning, as the sarcastic and sassy assistant to Billy McBride, she steals the show. She's intense and hilarious. An obviously intentional scene-stealer and in the beginning of this episode... let's just say you'll want to rewatch it again and again. Hilarious. The season, so far, by the way, is pretty good. A slowburn Chinatown homage taking place mostly, or at least at this point, entirely in the Central California desert so none of the usual haunts (like the bar, or the cheap hotel our man who has 50 million dollars lives in). Moving along slow, but pretty good. And some of the really weird, bizarre stuff... hopefully it all becomes clear soon.

Nina steals each episode! She's brilliant! As far as series goes, Season 1 was still the best by far. Season 2 writers got lazy & this season; Season 3 writers got REAL lazy. Seem to be gettin high on their own supply. Could someone please get Billy a better toup. One he's wearing is awful!

Warning: Spoilers
When the show gets down to the technical and legal nitty gritty it is at its best. We got some of that here, but we are obviously awhile away from the big courtroom stuff. Still, the setting behind the season is a mistake.

OK, Here We Go

Those water guys are bad dudes. Up until now, it has been mostly talk. But when all else fails, kill someone. Billy gets deeper in and his confederates are starting to get scared. For a time I thought I had slipped into a deranged Busby Berkeley film, mated with Twin Peaks. There have been some really surrealistic moments including that dance sequence from what may have been the French Revolution. I'm really hooked.

Warning: Spoilers
Acid trip and all - I'm hooked. Actually liking the surreal moments woven in and I want to know what's gonna happen next, I want my favorite characters to live - tho I know a couple won't. I want to know who the baby daddy is? Back to living this series just like I did at the beginning.
