Sad
woodvillelite-119 December 2022
The last episode of the series ends in a major cliffhanger which most know before getting into it S3 Ep 8 is the last of the series. For me I was very depressed knowing they did not get a S4.

Even knowing from the first episode the episodes are a bit over the top, the people and envioument are way to clean .... and Jocelyn alone has a new hate or dress evertime you see her ?? But still the writers I think came very close to how it was back in that time period.

In March of 2022 it was 400 years since the Indian attack occurred where this show ends so dramatically. It is not a spoiler as it is not part of history and the show but the reality was anyone in the barrier surrounding the main part of Jamestown mostly lived but hundreds of settlers in outgoing areas were killed.

Amazing

Warning: Spoilers
This has been the episode that has crushed it for me. I think this episode should get a 9+ out of 10. Like honestly I don't know about the history aspect but as a drama and effect this was exhilarating. The English sitting all comfortable and then the music and gore and attacks from the Pamonke was insane. I do kind of wish this series carried on and just didn't end here as the cast and directing had so much potential that was unleashed in the last 15 minutes of the series finale.

I do love the way the series led up to that moment and again sad it's only been 24 episodes. I don't care about the history as much as other people but as a watch in it itself, it was great!

Way to ruin an otherwise brilliant series.

Warning: Spoilers
I feel cheated that this was the very last scheduled episode of Jamestown. Season 3 has been the best and this episode showed great promise, especially at the climax with the attack... and then it just ended with a written postscript appearing on-screen to explain what happened next in the history of the settlement. To my mind, this seems like a fourth season may have been anticipated but eventually didn't get greenlit. It's a massively anticlimactic end to what has been a decent, if not always brilliant show. Even a feature length episode to round things off would have been welcome. As a viewer I feel cheated. I feel cheated for the actors and writers who still had a part of the story to tell. I hope an online provider such as Netflix or Amazon Prime decides to pick it up so it gets an actual resolution.

A Bad Way to End a Great Series
walzer-9480415 August 2019
I loved the series. I followed it week to week on PBS and was drawn into it. I feel so horrifically cheated that the series ended in such a manner. It's like the writers were putting their all into the writing of the episode, but they were told they had two minutes to finish up before the script was due. The ending was so unoriginal and a cop-out that I can't put it into words. To have a series of such quality end on such a "we don't know exactly how to end the series" manner was incredibly disappointing. I think the previous reviewer was correct. They were holding out hope for a season 4, but when that didn't come, they hastily added the post-script. A bad way to end a great series.
