I was a little hesitant at first about this one, but it was a hot day in the Southern Tier, and I was (at least) looking forward to the air conditioning. But this movie grabbed me right from the beginning. I can't tell you how frustrated I get with snack vending machines.
The story is very cute, even if the premise has been used time and time again. It's a story about greed, deception, betrayal, teamwork, and other family values. But it's also about learning the value of friendship and family.
I have two boys 4 and 7 and we loved this film. I think William Shatner was great as the overacting dad opossum.
My only criticism is the caffeine/squirrel bit. I just saw the same bit last year in Hoodwinked. But I can forgive as I know it takes years to make an animated film, and the story is lost without this sequence.
