I like Ron Perlmans performance in general, thus I was intrigued by this movie. He can combine the gentle person with violence. It is amazing to see how he interacts with his granddaughter on one side and be so violent on the other side. But in addition, there comes the issue of age, some unresolved history that is not fully revealed. All key persons are really old, making this not a common action movie, but adding some tiredness to it. The main persons show on different ways that they are not happy with the violence and deaths they caused. It is just a means to what has to be done.
But the contrast to finding peace with his own family by taking care of his very special granddaughter is the main reason to watch this movie. I did expect a lot with Ron Perlman being the main actor and I was not disappointed.
