Wally West returns!
RahulM00711 March 2020
Warning: Spoilers
This episode saw the return of Wally West who has quite a zen attitude towards life. I have missed the character dearly and hope he appears again this season. Wally noticing a difference of behavior in Iris is spot on and further strengthens the brother-sister dynamic between them. Hopefully, there will be some progress made regarding the Mirror Master storyline. When will Team Flash find out about Mirror Iris and the new Mirror Master?

The villain of the week sneakily named The Turtle 2.0 by Cisco served as a great one off villain. I prefer the newer version of the Turtle over the older version that appeared way back in season 2. Her powers were much better and more visually pleasing. That was more of a sub-plot in this episode, as the main arc focused more on the speed force.

After reuniting with everyone, Wally tells Barry the true reason why he returned. He senses that there is something wrong with the speed force. Barry's impression of Master Yoda was great. He really loves Star Wars. Anyway, Barry withholds some information from Wally for a bit, until Wally finds out what happened with Bloodwork which leads him to confront Barry. In true Flash fashion, we as a audience were misled and got a surprising twist to why the speed force is unstable and dying. It turns out that during Crisis when the Spectre unlocked Barry's full potential and thrust him into the speed force, some Spectre energy still stayed in the speed force. This was quite a unpredictable and surprising twist.

The absence of Ralph Dibny aka Elongated Man was quite noticeable in this episode. It is quite disappointing that he only appeared once in season 6B so far. At the same time, it is understandable why he did not appear. Ralph finally found Sue Dearborn in episode 12, but then lost her again. She never wanted to be found by anyone. As a private investigator, Ralph has to accomplish his mission and return Sue to her parents. That's what he has been doing for the past couple of episodes off screen.

The scene where Eobard Thawne confronts Barry in the pipeline was incredibly menacing and terrifying. I was expecting to see Matt Letscher portraying the Reverse Flash, but him being in Nash Wells's body is also great.

To conclude, this episode had multiple characters returning, a new villain of the week, a typical pep talk from Joe West and tackled the death of the speed force. I am quite enthused to find out how Barry will regain his speed, now that the speed force is slowly fading away. There has to be some kind of twist involved. I hope Wally gets his speed back too.

Building up to a promising 8 episodes, the episode was really good but suffered from a bad villain
Holt34411 March 2020
Death of the Speed Force is a big comic book arc from the Rebirth and the TV Show did its best in making it their own but I have to say I wanted more to it but it builds for something good and the return of Kid Flash was appreciated, we only need Jesse Quick and we got the old team back. I've been enjoying this season and it's mostly because of the new showrunner and the story arcs he choose to bring to the screen but there is still many flaws in this show, with some episodes that are just plain bad. The first arc of the season when Bloodwork were the villain, that was great but what we got after Crisis wasn't really that good. The Mirror storyline is so far really bad, not enjoying any of it but I believe the build up with the Reverse Flash and the Death of the Speed Force will make things better again. I hope.

But overall this week's episode was pretty good, good drama and character interactions that was well acted and mattered, it wasn't the regular soap operaish dialogue which was appreciated. Also well directed with some good effects again. This week's episode villain was unnecessary and just plain bad in terms of bad acted and just the overall villain, not interesting at all, there's lots of other better villains to choose from.

To end my review I'll say this, I strongly believe this show will be better if it was 18 episodes or 16 which is the same for Black Lightning, that makes for better story telling and also bigger budget and no fillers.

What an episode imo. Cisco's girlfriend gets trapped in the mirror place, speed force dies, Thawne returns as well as Wally West. I thought this episode had the perfect ingredients with a sidekick flash, Thawne (fan favorite), finally a regular villain and very interesting stories. I give it a 9 here, most definitely one of the best episodes of season 6.

I don't remember who Spectre is, do you guys?

Very good episode. The season continues to increase its level
dami300112 March 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Wally's return has been very good news for the show. A more mature and mystical Wally.

The death of the force of speed confronts Barry and Wally. But then they go back to that relationship that binds them together.

The return of Eobard Thawne in the body of Nash Wells and the confrontation with Cisco is great.

The end of the episode leaves us with many roads open. Will they create a new force of speed? What happened to Camilla? Will Eobard Thawne get his revenge?

Many questions. Now the season is on its way

I fell asleep three times watching this episode. I was unengaged and bored. The storyline since crisis is so poorly done. New writers are desperately needed.

What an incredible episode
aoxmetatron4 July 2020
This season continues to blow my expectations out of the water. This is without a doubt one of the best episodes of the Flash yet. Period. We got emotions, action and unreal dialogue and plot point conclusions. Well written and acted. 10/10.

How is Wally alve?
garabedian12312 March 2020
There was so much wrong with this episode I don't know where to begin..And yet it wasn't bad!. Was that the flash. Really? OK so I have a theory that this whole season is really taking place in the mirror and none of it is real.

So the flash has been rebooted. In one episode no less. So Wally is back but no one is concerned how he survived Crisis..ok whatever. Where is his girlfriend speedster? Is she also back?

I sure wish I knew what happened in this version of the crisis..you know, the one the characters seem to remember but one that we never saw.

So where is Ralph? Why does Cisco not have his powers again. Didn't he just get them back? Also where has he been?? Atlantis..is that a rick and morty reference = a middle finger?

In this Crisis Barry was more involved somehow. And he somehow introduced a small spark of white lightning that somehow destroyed the speedforce. Its strange. In some seasons the speedforce is GOD..in some seasons its just a thing and and this season its just a used condom. Nasty and Gross. No one wants to touch it or do anything with it.

And Nash...and Thawne? What? Thawne can make himself look like Nash. we have always known that. But taking over his body. I don't know where to start. He has his own speedforce...what? Okay i do remember something about a negative speedforce but I was expecting all speedsters to lose their powers...such a strange story to introduce randomly

What a wasted oppurtunity
rorygunn11 March 2020
This would have been a great episode to introduce Max Mercury who is a speedster and a Zen master of the Speed Force in the comics but instead we get Wally who we haven't seen in ages all of a sudden spouting all this stuff.Of course we can't have a show without Barry crying and whining and saying he's sorry and begging forgiveness like a castrated male.We are six seasons in and Barry by now should know all this stuff already but we couldn't have that because that would make Barry a strong decisive man and we can't have that on this show because then how would they prop up Iris and all the other female characters if the lead male is strong..Such a sad downhill decline of a once potentially good show...

Ranking/Reviewing every Flash episode: Death of the Speed Force
lbramson27 June 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Wally returns to warn Barry that the Speed Force died. This episode was one of the most eventful of this season. I know that an eternal force of nature having a immune system and dying is stupid, but it makes a good episode, so I don't care. This episode also saw the reveal that Nash was possessed when he attacks Cisco, which was very cool to see. While last episode was a promising return to form for Season 6, this was the episode that felt like the first half. In fact, it's better than a good bit of episodes in the first half. If the rest are like this, we might be looking at the best season yet. Awesome episode filled with awesome stuff!

9.3/10-Great!👍👍

A bad casting decision broke this episode
qbradford-1544728 June 2020
Warning: Spoilers
The main storyline for the episode about the Speed Force was awesome. My beef is with the choice of actress for the episode's villain. They hired a native Ukrainian, Elizaveta Neretin, to play a bit part at the beginning as the first victim and then hired an American girl, Vanessa Walsh, to play the Ukrainian villian, Turtle 2!!! What's wrong with this picture??? Vanessa Walsh's Ukrainian accent is easily the worst I have ever heard. Were the people in charge of casting off their meds that day??? It would have been an amazing episode if they had actually made the good call and had Vanessa Walsh play the victim and have the Ukrainian play the Ukrainian!!!! Their decision destroyed this episode.

Hope is fading for The Flash once again.
EddyTheMartian00711 March 2020
Warning: Spoilers
There was hope when season 6 began. The show wasn't good per se, but it was improving, and we got one of the best episodes in years. The storyline wasn't nonsensical, and while the show wasn't particularly good in my opinion, it was at least decent.

Season 6B began. The storylines have become, silly to the point of absurdity. Yes this is a comic book show, but it doesn't excuse the nonsensical writing. NOTHING makes sense anymore.

We have one of the dumbest storylines on the show ever. Iris has been sucked into some sort of mirror dimension with a character called Eva (who is horribly performed.) and an evil Iris comes out, who is controlled by Eva. What?! This gave us the worst episode of the show yet, "Love Is a Battlefield" where 2 supervillains have sex in the middle of a warehouse while making puns about their powers, and The Flash just lets them be.

The next episode we get introduced to Sue Dibny, and characters forgetting to use their powers. Sue just fights people and prevails while Ultraviolet and Elongated Man forget they have powers again.

The next episode was probably the best of season 6b, but still equally nonsensical and silly. So Gorilla Grodd just goes into Barry's mind to explain how he has been redeemed (with development we've never seen) and fight solovar in his mind. Alright... but what was the point?

There's a few other storylines that happen in these episodes, but honestly I can't even remember, like the writers can't remember half of the cast of their show every other episode.

Finally this episode... So Wally comes back and pulls random speedforce powers out of his... bottom area. He's connected to the speedforce and it seems like the speedforce is dying. I did like how this was set up and teased in previous episodes. He tells Barry, and since Barry is the cause Wally decides to ditch Barry in this time sensitive moment to save the speed force. His anger at Barry was totally reasonable, but it's pretty stupid of him to act this way. A lot of this episode just felt like it was forced Drama. The whole bit with Nash and Cisco, also Turtle 2 is just filler. Then it turns out that Thawne has possessed Nash because...? And Thawne doesn't even know he doesn't have his powers in Nash's body? How does that even happen. Cisco is able to fight off Thawne somehow. Basically the whole set up from last season about Thawne returning was him possessing someone. Back to the speedforce dying, I'm surprised they actually killed it. This episode wasn't all bad, I thought some of the moments with the speedforce were good, and while there is a lot of forced drama some of it was good. However, I really dislike how Spectre is what ultimately killed the speedforce. I really liked how they were setting it up to be Barry's fault, but now there's the excuse he did it to save the universe, and it wasn't Barry directly. We can't have Barry deal with actual real mistakes he made, his mistakes have to be glossed over and without consequence. Wally suspects something is off with Iris, and Barry doesn't. Keep in mind this is Wally who only met Iris a few years ago, and has been gone for most of that time, and Barry who literally grew up with her and is married to her. Concluding with team flash is making a synthetic speed force... What has even happened to this show? Additionally to end the episode Camila has a picture of iris that isn't geting deleted. As she tried to deleted the picture reveals iris as some sort of mirror creature, so then Iris comes out of nowhere and uses a mirror gun on Camila. See what I mean about the show making no sense anymore? The direction this series is taking is just baffling. These storylines are just stupid. Did I mention how bad this episode looked too? They definitely majorly cut the budget, because this episode was pretty badly shot. This show has just lost any semblance of logical writing. Things just happen for the sake of happening, and it isn't ever explained.

I'm sorry this review is messy, but it just represents how messy Season 6B has become.

Bring back Flash
jeffreycrippen-2844615 March 2020
The writers have ruined the character of Barry. He no longer acts like the hero of the story or even the main character. The idea of Wally going all zen was really stupid imo. Get back to superhero & villain stories & use Barry as the focus with help from Ralph & Cisco & Caitlan. Try to avoid Iris as much as possible. That character is way too much of the shows focus. Hope Wally doesn't come back if the writers intend to use him as the all knowing conscience for Barry. Ep was better than the all Iris all the time that we've seen lately but still no where near the quality of the earlier seasons. Flash needs to be the star of the Flash.

Yes and No
maya-3389427 April 2020
As a stand-alone episode, this one is good, but when you take a few minutes to look at the larger picture, you have to wonder what the heck is happening to this show.

First, I have yet to forgive the writers for killing of Hazard (Rebecca "Becky" Sharpe, AKA Luck Lady). She was sweet and I instantly loved her and imagined how she could become something amazing in the show as a reoccuring charcater. Because of the Clifford DeVoe story arc, I understand that she needed to be part of those who died, but why could they not find a way to bring her back? Anyway, I digress.

Second, the multiverse is destroyed. The single greatest source of stories, villans and heroes just wipped from existence. Feels like someone hit the DELETE by mistake and is trying to claim that it was not their fault.

Now, they "kill" the speedforce?!? Is someone at the writers' table bent on destroying everything that made thisshow great?

Honestly, I am seriously wondering why I keep watching this show.
