Series Finale review.
Top_Dawg_Critic2 October 2021
Against many odds, and haters, this show was amazing and will forever be a cult classic with a huge following.

The writers that managed to take an improbable chance of success for this "made for TV" story about the devil and his fellow celestials living and visiting earth, all deserve Primetime Emmy Awards.

Creator Tom Kapinos also needs to win many awards for taking his vision, and making such a successful 93 episode series. Sure the plot wasn't always spotless, but all things considered, the vast depths this series managed to achieve with its variety of stories and sub-plots, was an astounding accomplishment. I will say though, that the final episode could've easily been much better. In my mind, I re-wrote it just like the reviewer zori-96098 stated. A much better, happier and deserving ending in my opinion.

This role was made for Tom Ellis, and I doubt anyone else could've pulled it off as well as he did. This man needs to win awards, as does Lauren German, who's performance in the final episodes was Oscar-worthy. For that matter, all casting was perfection, as were the performances.

The final hero in this series is Netflix, who was brave and smart enough to pick it up after Fox got bored with it, and chose other garbage to carry instead of this hit show. I was part of the #SaveLucifer and #PickUpLucifer movement, and am glad Netflix listened.

I will miss this show and all its characters deeply, but I will never forget. Thank you for the great times, laughter and tears. #ThankYouLucifer.

Probably one of the best endings I have EVER seen.

I sobbed so much.

Thank you Netflix for picking up this show, saving it and the writers for developing an amazing final season.

I wish I could change one tiny detail

Warning: Spoilers
I loved the series finale, I really did. But one thing just won't stop bugging me. Lucifer is not the type that just leaves and never turns back because he was told to do so. No, he is the type of man who would try and exploit every tiny little loophole and come back up to be with Chloe. Rory said that Chloe had told her that Lucifer left on August 4th. But we found that he didn't. He left on August 5th. So Chloe lied. I mean, Lucifer could've just stayed with Chloe while she was pregnant and then maybe until Rory's first birthday and to leave afterwards. Rory wouldn't remember him and Chloe would just tell her the same lie and avoid a paradox. And also afterwards Lucifer could always pop back up when Rory wasn't watching and spend time with Chloe. That's all I wish they would've done differently. On her deathbed Chloe could've shared with Rory about all those amazing moments she had with Lucifer during her whole life. That's it. A few minutes worth of beautiful flashbacks with Chloe and Lucifer being happy would've been made things so much better. And now knowing that Chloe lived her whole life without Lucifer just sucks and hurts a lot.

Best finale.

Warning: Spoilers
Wowowowowowowow. This finale was absolutely amazing. Where to even begin... I loved the entire episode, but I'll list the absolute highlights for me.

The slow-mo fight scene near the beginning of the episode with "My Body is a Cage" as the soundtrack. Excellent song choice, and the fight was done brilliantly.

When Rory wants to get revenge on Le Mec, and starts growing a devil face, and her father convinces her to repress her rage and avoid regretting it. Really great scene.

When Rory realizes the truth, and travels back while having Lucifer promise to become the healer of hell. I loved this part not only because of the moment itself, but because it brought some unanswered questions from season 5 with God, full circle.

Amenadiel as God. Just... yes. Yes yes yes.

Daniel reuniting with Charlotte in heaven!!! So glad with how his storyline payed off.

Charlie having wings! Did not expect that, but that was great.

The cameo with Patrick Fabian as Reese!! So unexpected but I jumped out of my seat when I saw it, that episode is still one of my favourites of the whole show.

Chloe reuniting with Lucifer after her life, so they can be partners again. Just perfect. Could not have asked for a better finale. This show was so fun to watch, and thank AmenaGod for Netflix saving the show after season 3!!

Warning: Spoilers
Quite possibly the greatest series finale of all time, I just wish that all shows could have endings like this, instead of being cancelled.

Dan finds heaven in heaven.

Chloe reunites with Lucifer.

Happy endings for almost everyone.

I just would like to know what happened to Trixie in her life.

Good Ending
chunkylefunga26 September 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Amazing how clueless the few people giving this finale a bad review are.

Firstly, the show has to end so it makes sense to end it with Chloe's death.

People moaning that now murderers can end up in heaven, do you people not even understand how Christianity works? That's literally what purgatory is, Christian dogma is you go to purgatory, then go to heaven afterwards.

It's not an instant process, you could be in purgatory for thousands of years, Dan in the show kept saying he'd been in hell for thousands of years and the angels all say time moves differently in heaven/hell.

Then we get to people moaning that Lucifer could have visted Earth whenever he wanted, except he gave Rory his word that he wouldn't and he doesn't break promises.

I mean it's almost as if some of you have never even watched the show :D

Anyway, it was definitely a good ending. I just would have liked to have seen some of the changes Amenadiel made.

A great ending to a great show. It was very emotional but gave you the closure you need in a finale. This series will forever be one of my favorites.

Warning: Spoilers
Oh my Dog! It's a rare thing for me to cry as much as I did during this episode. Because it's the end of a era. No, because the rap up of everyone's stories is beautifully, heart aching, simple, and meaningful.

Charlie. Good to see you get your happy ending.

I'm so sad to see this series end, but I also know it's time. Like all things loved, it'll be grieved.

I'll watch it all many times again and I'll always think of Luci when I rewatch Bones.

a perfect ending to the story
someonewhoreallylovestvshows13 September 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Idk about y'all but i loved this ending so much.

Don't scroll if you didn't watch it yet.

I liked that i really didn't expect it and it's not basic , it's for sure now one of my favourite endings .

But what bugs me is the people rating it 1 without even understanding the ending and yes i know everyone has a diff taste but on their review they say something like (i don't get why he's not staying because his daughter said so or why wouldn't he just go to chloe on her death bed atleast ) time loop people time loop , rory clearly said she does not want to change a thing before she left because if lucifer stayed with her during her childhood or comes to chloe's death bed rory would never get mad and travel back in time and lucifer would never know that he's supposed to help the souls to get rid of their guilt.

And another type of people who say (what happened to free will or i wanted him to replace his father) the whole point of lucifer's character development is for him to be selfless and help people not to be the one who was fighting for his free will along time ago and the last ep lucifer was convinced that there's no free will in this matter it had to happen, and it makes so much more sense for amanadiel to replace his father.

Overall the ending is semi perfect and fits the story so well.

Bad Ending
anathorien13 September 2021
Warning: Spoilers
The plot for Lucifer abandoning is daughter is extremely flawed. Lucifer can go and leave Hell as he pleases. On episode 1 of season 6 when Lucifer goes see Daniel states that time in Hell goes much faster than on Earth. So if time goes faster in Hell, Lucifer can leave Earth for a day and still do plenty of work there. Is it so far fetch for Lucifer to have a 9-17 job and then come back to his family and be with the love of his life and see his daughter grow? If Amenadil finds time to be part-time dad, why can't Lucifer do the same? Makes zero logic.

a very Supernatural ending
mhorrighan18 September 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I... have problems with the ending. I love the show, I love the actors and the characters and I always hoped they would end up together.

Ok. But: I agree with other reviewers that a lot in season 6 seemed stretched out, there were unnecessary filler episodes where story would have been better and some character development wasn't that at all. Dan was constantly let down by everyone except Chloe. After his emotional death last season him being a ghost and his existence at all was treated like a joke. Ella finding out about Lucifer and angels etc. Was a disappointment and didn't seem to affect her at all after the inital tantrum. Trixie was just an ornament at the edge somewhere. Does she even know?

But let's just look at the last episode. How did Chuck (I forget the characters name) kidnap Rory exactly? Why did Lucifer didn't go get more help, by Amenadiel or others? I mean, his brother is god ffs. Why is it possible for Amenadiel to be a part time dad but not Lucifer? Time goes differently in heaven and hell as we've been told. Why the Supernatural ending with Chloe living her life alone for who knows how many years and only then, after dying, getting back with Dean... I mean Lucifer.

I'm happy they got some kind of happy end but still feel disappointed in the conclusion of the show. Lucifer: How the devil became a therapist.

Oh My Devil
dan_counts11 September 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Now this is how you end a series. None of this Dexter disappearing in a storm at sea and ending up in as a lumberjack stuff. Not the Sopranos just going black when they all get to the diner.

But watching the season unfold, and then going through the various happy denouements (even though I wished they would have a Ella/Ray-Ray talk which would have been great during Save the Devil, Save the World). But everything, coming together.... Dan getting to spend eternity with Charlotte and his beloved pudding cups, Maze and Eve being the kick ass bounty hunters, Amenadiel's rise to the throne and that Charlie is going to be an angel to the homecoming of Rory, finishing up with her getting closure and understanding what Chloe went through and why she went through it. All of it beautiful, all if it designed to put a smile on your face.

Then there is Chloe's death, and Amenadiel asking if she's ready to go home and the build using Black Parade.

Henderson and Modrovitch banged this finale script out of the ball park.

Warning: Spoilers
What they have managed to pull off is unbelievable. Literally. From cancellation to revival to this ending. Nicely tied up with reference to the pilot.

As we reach the end, we accept the inevitable- Lucifer won't be God. While most will be angry with the setup at the end of season 5 going to waste, i think they've provided to satisfying logic and story to bring this great show and everyone's character arc to a brilliant and sensible conclusion. The show never lost itself in its convulsed nature. (PS: note this, game of thrones)

Amazing. Special mention to Tom Ellis and Lauren German. They were magnificent and will sorely be missed along with the entire cast. A magnificent show. Can't help but shed that odd tear over the pain of separation and the spiritual message as well. Farewell.

A worthy finale to one of the greatest series of all time.
Misha_A11 September 2021
Lucifer delivers. Every season, every episode. It consistently delivers incredible writing, incredible acting and incredible production. And it's no different with the finale.

There is one scene in the finale where Chloe hugged Lucifer whilst sitting on his lap. Her fingers on his back literally trembled in a heart-wrenching display of emotion.

Lucifer is not an award-winning type of show, but don't for one moment think the level of acting on the show is anything but spectacular. While Tom Ellis is the master of being indignant and angry, Lauren German dominates every emotional scene. Keep a box of tissue handy when watching the finale.

This amazing finale ensures Lucifer will become a rerun staple, just like Seinfeld, Friends, etc. Lucifer will be my comfort show for years to come.

Take a bow, Lauren German, Tom Ellis, Ildy Modrovich and Joe Henderson.

Love Lucifer
Cylac20 September 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Loved Lucifer! Loved the entire series and this ending... EXCEPT how everyone had their "happily ever after" while Lucifer was stuck (how?) in hell. Why was Amenediel (God 2.0) allowed on earth to be present at several family gatherings and his son's birthday and stuff while Lucifer was stuck in hell? He was able to before.. but now he has to miss his daughters birth and stuff.. He had to do this so she'd stay pissed at him until she went back in time?! Why couldn't she be happy and have her dad while growing up?! I'm sure Lucifer could have found "his calling" either way.. he was already on that path.

It was the only thing that made no sense to me.. Lucifer was denied his "happy ever after" until Cloe died of old age.. oh well.. part of the drama I guess. Still love the show!

Inconsistent
felixstaffanson17 September 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I don't agree with the decision to not make Lucifer God after all that he went through and did. I mean he sacrificed himself to save Chloe in the silver city, confessed his love for her and resurrected on earth to stop Michael. But then he choose to go back to Hell and save souls, but this time he was unable to leave, because he promised his future daughter that? But god can come and go as he pleases?

And for the record, Lucifer is my all time favorite show ever, just don't agree with the ending of it.

From the ratings, it looks like I will be in the minority, but I didn't like this season at all.
C0SSTY14 September 2021
Warning: Spoilers
It was pretty bad. Not GoT level bad, but let's be honest, nothing can top that.

The season had 10 episodes and in the first 7 nothing noteworthy happened. They could easily cut/edit that into 1-2 episodes, or better yet, use that time on characters that barely had screen time.

This season has a lot of problems, but probably the biggest for me was the way Ella found out about everything. It was so underwhelming, not to mention lazy. She opened her dashboard one time, and there suddenly was all her "research" and "evidence" against Lucifer and others. That's all we got. Nothing before suggested that she even suspected anything. I was so excited to see how would Ella figure everything out. This was so disappointing. I don't thing they could have made it worse. I don't understand why they didn't cut some filler and use that to properly show Ella how she is investigating everything.

If your TV Show's main plot doesn't revolve around time travel and then you, at the last minute, introduce time travel into the mix. Your Show is doomed. There was so many plot holes in there, it's not even funny.

The last villain was a joke. So random.

I loved watching Trixie, Lucifer, Maze together. There was none of that here. Trixie barely got a couple of minutes of screen time, and Maze did nothing the whole season. Now when I think about it, 5th season was pretty similar in that regard.

Trixie didn't even learn that Lucifer was the devil and Maze was a demon. It's probably for the best, because it would probably be something similar to Ella's experience.

Yes, the last minutes of the last episode were emotional, but not necessary because it was good, but because I knew this was the end. I feel like TV Shows usually get canceled instead of getting an ending, so at least that was good to see.

Still don't understand why Lucifer had to stay in hell and couldn't pop out at least once a week, especially in the light of Amenadiel doing just that. Their reason probably is that angels are helping Amenadiel with his job, and because of that he has free time. Since Lucifer doesn't have any help, he has to stay there 24/7.

This reason is not enough. Amenadiel is the God, if he was missing there would be problems, we were shown that. If Lucifer was missing from Hell, nothing would happen, we were shown that. So Lucifer not having help doesn't change a fact that he could leave for a while and then go back.

I had Lucifer rated at 9/10 before. This last season changed everything. I will be changing that rating to 6/10.

EDIT: I remembered that in previous seasons, it was said that 1 minute on Earth is 1000 years in Hell.

I was loosing sleep over this, so I decided to do some napkin math.

I did some reading, and therapy usually lasts around 6 months of weekly sessions. Let's be generous and say that it's 3 years.

Lucifer is working 24/7, which he should, otherwise I don't see the point of this finale. This means he can help 168 people in 3 years.

±108.1 billion people died on Earth. Let's say 50% of them went to hell.

Lucifer would heal 54 billion people in 965 million Hell years, which is 1.8351 Earth years. Yes, you read that right. Barely 2 years. This doesn't even take into account that a lot of souls probably wouldn't even need Lucifer's help.

If Lucifer didn't work 24/7, but only 12h a day, that would still be 3.67 Earth years. So even in the worst case scenario he could come back after not even 4y because he would literally have nobody else to save anymore.

There were a lot of zeros in this, so I hope I didn't miss any, but I checked it and that shouldn't be the case.

All of this might have been a bit petty, but I don't like when writers treat people like idiots.
