Conservative people lowered the rating of this great show
ella_kelbert23 April 2022
I was surprised to see the low rating but then I read some reviews. Well, what can I say? The show is great, it speaks to all kinds of women of very different backgrounds and I felt very understood in many ways. It's a real opening-eye documentary about women's sexuality but men can (and should) also learn a lot with it. But I guess a bunch of conservative people didn't like it? Well, to bad for you.

A bit amateur and might not be made for the west?
wraptile24 March 2022
The information provided is very basic and yet the guests are extremely ignorant to the point where it feels satirical. "what is a vulva? Is it the hamburger bits?"

It's weirdly reductive and judgemental. We figured out objective physics before subjective sex biology - why is that so surprising? Is understanding minor orgasm details as important as Newtonian physics? A lot of anti-science talk in favor of politics.

The structure of the show is very flat. They present some basic information and more niche information at the same presentation level.

So, it's a constant battle between "this is so cringey and borderline stupid" to "oh that's pretty cool".

This would have been great few decades back. I give it benefit of a doubt maybe it's intended for some conservative countries which I can appreciate, but for developed world in 2022, unfortunately, it's more cringey than educational or entertaining.

If you think it, you can ... feel it(?)
kosmasp27 March 2022
This a womans affair - at least when it comes to those talking. I reckon men are simpler - you may not see it in the title, though I reckon the poster is a bit of a give away too. Of course that doesn't mean that men are not having something to say - or rather something is being said about men. Not just them, there is also LGBTQ+ in the mix.

Even concentrating more on the female side (or rather leaving the male perspective aside mostly), this still takes on more than it can chew. There are basics discussed here ... and there is a lot of nudity. But if you are thinking about watching this because you think it is titilating ... I'd advice you not to do so. Believe you me - this is supposed to be informal and educational. Of course some things should be common sense and logical .. on the other hand we still have a long way to go in many respects ... especially when it is about talking about our sexuality and not shaming others for theirs.

Many themes and many topics are being discussed, but you might not find what you are looking for here ... or it only being a side note. As they say themselves: there's different things that work for different people ... so even on that note, while it is correct, it probably will not be able to provide the answers or solutions you are looking for. This is not in depth ... this is scratching the surface - no puns intended.

Very female centric and rightly so
IfyOgwude226 March 2022
Most of these horrible reviews are coming from guys who cannot watch a female centric show without pulling their hair out. Ignore the negative reviews and see this for yourself.

Let's make consensual love, not war!
Sarah_88828 March 2022
What would happen if we all made respectful, pleasurable and consensual love in this world, instead of war?

My husband and I sat and watched the three episodes together, and absolutely loved it. We both grew up in cultures that were highly restrictive, and mentally and emotionally unhealthy.

I have often said, "If I could change one thing on this planet it would be to eradicate erroneous thinking about religion." To which I now add, ditto for sex. I didn't realize how widespread the negativity is about women's sexuality. Seems to be a literal undercurrent on this planet that infects pretty much everybody, at birth.

Disappointed for me and my daughters.
virgillover25 March 2022
Hi there i am a mom of 3 wonderful daughters and i want to share our experience with this show. Sadly its not what we were hoping for. When I heard this show was coming to Netflix I was ecstatic! "Finally!" I thought, something for me and my daughters that we can watch and learn something together! It seemed great at first but after watching the entire show that is currently available we very quickly realized that it's not a documentary at all or informative in any constructive way at all.

They gathered many different women, none of whom seemed like they had EVER even or been to any kind of biology or Anatomy class. "Vulva????" That was literally stuff we learned in fifth grade. The informative discussion went from a great start very quickly to "Its everyone's fault I somehow don't know about my body!" Now look I lean hard left, but these women only make us look like absolute idiots who know almost nothing but how to blame others for our own issues. There was also a large lack of real sources backing any "facts" that we saw, also tried to look up the credentials of the "PH. Ds" we saw (found none) in the end my oldest looked at me and said "as long as we don't end up like them (women in video) I think we will be just fine. I'm ashamed for my entire gender being represented here. WE ARE NOT ALL IDIOTS!

Required viewing for the well being of all
deeannah24 March 2022
What's not to love about pleasure? Informative and funny. Real women, giving their perspectives. Do we know some of this already? Sure. But considering how women's health is so grossly under-researched, it needs this spotlight.

Some will take every opportunity to yuck all over this yum, and for them I say: your mom and your sisters, your aunties and your grandma love sex. Get over it!

What a disappointment
marcie2125 March 2022
A great idea for a show, but so much misinformation. There was also too much emphasis on being victimized, and could have used more clarification on the main topics that were just brushed over.

At LAST, and not before time.
dcarroll7424 March 2022
I have just watched E1 of this mini series. If this is how it continues, I can hardly wait to see E2 and E3. Even if they don't turn out to be as good (although I think E2 will be because, the mind is the biggest sexual organ), watching E1 again is definitely worth it.

As a 60+ wsm (white straight male) I broke the episode into 3 parts, what I already knew, what I suspected, and what I didn't know at all. The last part was an eye opener, and the saddest part was, the mapping of the clitoris NOT being done until 2005.

What a shock, and what a disgrace, not on the part of the woman that did but, on the many who didn't, both female AND male.

As to the idea of orgasm being a means to overcome insomnia, is definitely something to think about (the "story" of men turning over and instantly falling asleep, should've been a clue).

There is so much more I could say but, I won't, it would spoil for those who will watch, enjoy, and learn. The "negative" comments I won't look at, to do so would mean these "people" exist. It's people like them that has given rise to a brilliant series like this, that sadly, shouldn't have had to be made in the first place.

I will definitely watch the rest, and most definitely watch the first episode again. There was so much information to try and take in, I need to hear it again to try and digest. Cudos to all the women involved, it is a master learning tool. Well done.

Painful
Willxones25 March 2022
Honestly the worst thing I've ever had the displeasure of watching. Apparently the reason that women don't know what their bits are called is because of cis white men oppressing them and not the fact that they just never cared enough to find out until they got on Netflix.

Would actually be pretty funny if it wasn't so painfully cringy.

Also I'm confused as to why they got a load of people who have definitely never had sex with another human to do a show about sex ed.

Anyway to conclude, If you're thinking about watching this for the education value, don't. If you're thinking about watching it for laughs, it's not worth it trust me. And if you're thinking about watching it because you're bored you're genuinely better off starting at your wall for a few hours.

I am so excited!
chandlerrobynseaman23 March 2022
This limited series was wonderful. It was informative and expansive. Modern and progressive.

It's narrative ranges from doctors that study sexology to women from all walks of life talking about their personal experiences. I feel that most people will finish this series and learn at least one new fact or receive a new perspective!

I've read other reviews and felt disappointed. Some individuals don't have the same access to sex education and this is another step to make this information palatable and available.

Also, if something isn't directly relatable to you it doesn't mean it isn't well made.

Warning: Spoilers
I appreciate the show, and really found MOST of it interesting. The part is didn't enjoy was feeling guilty for being a white female. Actually, that part made me quite disgusted. This is supposed to be a show for ALL females. Excluding white females from should not have been included in this show.

Absolutely ridiculous!
duke-2448422 March 2022
This documentary is a waste of time! It was either scripted to make the women look ignorant, or they just found the most ignorant women on the planet! Every woman I've ever dated or hooked up with in my teens knew more than these grown women.

The documentary acts as if all men are horrible and misogynistic! Basically, the reason women aren't educated enough about sex is because of the "bad white man"!

They try to bash men and blame them for every thing, but in reality, they make the women who they're interviewing look terrible. Don't waste your time with this "documentary".

Informative and Modern
SureLinduh26 March 2022
Very educational. Modern in the sense of not being afraid to ask questions and talk about your body. More women-focused but that's the theme, especially when discussing the principles of pleasure. Engaging documentary.

You'll love it if you enjoy blaming straight white males for everything!
melissamarie238330 March 2022
Another show that pushes the leftist narrative. Forget the "Science", blame white people and embrace being unhealthy - we're all unique and beautiful except straight white men, they're to blame for EVERYTHING including your orgasm or should I say lack of. As a woman, these feminist gross me out!

Great documentary
andressalimpias23 March 2022
Great documentary with a lot of information and data brought by scientists and professionals in the field. I liked it because it also brings the experience of several women interviewed, humanizing a little each information brought. In addition to being extremely didactic and beautiful, the illustrations and animations are really beautiful and eye-catching!

And I think it's great that it's revolting the incels. Shows even more how good and accurate the documentary is, because the negative evaluations are not against the facts and data, they are against the women chosen for interview... when you don't already have an intelligent argument, they end up appealing, right...

Woke garbage
hatcherpennington3 April 2022
Misinformation aside, this show only goes over female anatomy and sexuality even though it advertises itself as "inclusive".

It treats its audience like idiots who've never heard of a clitoris while simultaneously blaming straight men for the fact that women don't orgasm as much as men on average.

The animations are crude and lazy plus the "experts" that they interview are just female incels. Avoid this show if you're actually interested in learning about sex and sexuality.

Amazing
romitina24 March 2022
We need a lot more documentaries like this and we need them yesterday!

Real issues, real people, professionals who dismantle myths, urban legends and the enormous burden of shame and various nonsense that centuries of religions and various bigotry have left us, through a simple, nice, polite narrative. Great job!

Laughable as well as offensive to anyone white
kkd2421 April 2022
Don't waste 5 seconds on this.

Just another documentary to blame white males for everything. How was this even made? Basically just a documentary to hate on everybody who is white and/or is still the gender at which they were born. Garbage at its very worst. To the point of offensive. "They didn't teach us about LGBT sex or orgasms in school" or "our parents didn't tell us how to enjoy ourselves in the bedroom"... of course they didn't!

Absolutely terrible. Less than 1 star.

Amazing docuseries!
nadiagmzm23 March 2022
It was just so informative and progressive. I've never seen the topic of pleasure tackled so openly. This is a game changer for women sex ed everywhere. I'm so happy the new generations get to grow up seeing so many diverse examples and opinions. I was mind blown of how much I didn't know at 29yo.

It's a must watch really!

The opposite of pleasure. Painful to watch.
Tom5473522 March 2022
Nothing remotely about pleasure here.

You could use this instead of a cold shower or to put someone off pleasure for life.

Ideological manure.

After watching this I am stopping our Netflix Subscription. The content is so poor.

A feel-good story for the self identifying feminists
hellomovieworld23 March 2022
The "documentary" is a feel-good story for the self identifying feminists with astonishingly little scientific authority.

Documentaries generally are regarded as a way to document reality. With this one, we can clearly see that the miniseries is only documenting a bubbled, weighted and biased reality of the writers. Anyone with the braincells of a monkey can smell the radical feminist agenda spewing from the stitches of this "documentary". This show is not here to educate anyone. It's here to affirm the echo chamber around the progressive left.

There was very little information actually backed by sources on the movie. Instead the cast talks about opression, transgenderism and other radical feminist topics. The cast talks about children masturbating as "being part of science" and still neglegts to apply any scientific review or backing to almost any of the topics thrown at the viewer.

After all the critique, I can say that there was still worth three stars of actual sex education in the series. If not science backed, atleast it is there to give ideas for experimentation.

You might enjoy this series more if you put on the -- ironically enough -- one colored glasses of the far-left feminist.

Go watch it! Fun, engaging, informative
nathalyflores4328 March 2022
I love this series!! It has further opened up a dialogue with my partner about our history with pleasure. We've been talking about masturbation, celibacy, demisexuality. It is so important to talk about sexual pleasure as well as general pleasures in our life. We need to lay this foundation so that we can also talk about equality amongst the sexes. So cute, so fun. Can't wait to finish the last episode.

An exercise in praying on low self esteem
bluesman-9674725 March 2022
From the opening moments of this truly awful show, dressed up as some kind of progressive explanation of something that seems to be portrayed as suddenly opening eyes to things that have already been discussed for decades, the false nature becomes oh so apparent.

It acts to tell women how they have essentially had their minds suppressed and only by the viewing of this show will their minds be released.

Breaking news though, 'Girl Power' has been a thing for decades now and the advent of the internet opened up all manner of avenues for explanation of sexual identity and the information required to achieve the best of pleasures.

There is massive bias, plainly evident from the writers/creators, who are riding on a false wave, that, to be fair, is all too often successful in terms of avoiding reality in favour of promoting only a narrowed and blinkered view of life, the ultimate goal being to attain power, not any real form of equality.

Ironically though, the end result is about a small group of women seeking to control the minds of most others, not freeing them.

Faux feminists will love this.

Real feminists will slam it's lack of integrity.

And yet, it could have worked so well if it had simply given information with no sub text and herein lies the great sadness.

Validation in a TV show
ztkjdkkb25 March 2022
As an almost 30 year old, I found questions answered and had fears and anxieties disappear after watching this series. I wish it had been around 10 years ago - it would've saved me from many hurt feelings, unnecessary worry about my body, and actually educated me about my body. As a sexual assault survivor, this series really hit home and made me feel seen and validated in my experiences for the first time. Thank you to creators of this show for making something so healing. Can't rave about this show enough!
