I need Frank to stop this nonsense
16 July 2023
I'm not sure if it's a gambling debt or an agent maybe it's both bur these BS super low budget cameos are not in his best interest. Stop making movies with Bruce Willis and up his level to maybe Nick Cage. The movies that Cage Makes these days may come out the microwave but atleast their fully cooked. This film has no redeemable qualities and the characters seemed lazy and contrived. Frank Grillo is hard to watch with Hollywood writers strike underway and more shows falling by the wayside pushing back premieres this fall & winter may be the driest Tv / Film season since the boom of reality TV.

Doesn't matter, If GASPAR NOE is involved I'M IN.
7 July 2023
Well it's not Hardcore but it's definitely above unsimulated sex, Unsimilated Porn I confess but somewhere between these scenes of gyrating full breasts ass naked men pink furry beavers and dangling dongs I feel like a porn paradox is on the cusp of revealing itself. I know it's porn imitating art but who am I to say what beauty is truth and what's just an indulgence. Maybe all the scenes of people not having sex is the farce. The line between purity and perversion is so blurred like the intermission short towards the end showing the hundreds of different people in different sexual positions is really all we boil down too in the end..

Definitely worst role Dafoe ever accepted.
23 March 2023
🌠🌠🌠 3/10 When they say slow burn something has too actually be lit this films just downright boring on all levels. The achievement of dragging you along for one hour forty five minutes of pure mediocrity was a big let down. Of course when a movie takes place in one setting things are bound to get stale but with a puny backstory that could've easily been eliminated this story was lacking all forms of entertainment. Plot holes for idiots and scenarios that make no sense like a fire alarm blazing loud lights and sensors flashing the sprinkler system going off in a million dollar penthouse filling up the apartment 6 inches of water but the security at the front desk has no idea of the incident. Definitely a skip over I am a fan of Dafoe but he has to be guided or his films can go off the rails in a bad way unfortunately this wasn't his fault I believe he brought something that wasn't their his acting was superb but nothing is still nothing no matter how many times you slice it.

If you seek adventure and excitement this weakling fantasy won't suffice.
23 March 2023
Yes they put money into this budget so Aesthetically it looks good but everything from the dialogue, story even the jokes never quite hit home the story is rather dull and predictable even the actors were subpar A listers who are good but a better actor could've replaced each role. For instance instead of Chris Pine Jason Bateman would've pulled this off much better. But that could go for each role and with so many fantasy films on the horizon I fail to see where this film series could get the edge over so many other stories that are superbly told. There was nothing memorable about this film and I believe this will be a box office flop.

The Sadness (2021)
9/10
Absolutely Disturbingly Phenomenal From Start To Finish
16 April 2022
🌠🌠🌠🌠🌠🌠🌠🌠🌠 My #1 Foreign Horror pick for 2022 in the United States.

No Zombies or infecteds were ever this entertaining to watch and rightfully so.. 'Ku Bei / The Sadness' does the unthinkable and then does it five more times just in case you missed it as if your attention isn't glued to the screen. But that's not what makes this the most unforgettable viral rampage / zombie films to date. Among many things what makes this film so great is the unrelenting visual depiction of Violent Aggression and Sexual Desire. The intelligence of this film is remarkable and simplistic often over looked due to it's very extreme scenes of rape, mutilation and sexual torture. But let's be honest here other films have selectively done one or two of these acts and hang their hat on disturbing but the entirety of this movie does it without flinching or feeling fraudulent. No extra unwanted time killing scenes, No dialouge that doesn't keep pace or dulles the senses just to waste time. Yes this film for the most part is definitely over the top but in the best way. Director Rob Jabbaz will have a cult following not because of what he shows on film but because of what he doesn't show on film which is Fear. Sexual desire for most is usually the core layer of our emotional drive and since that layer is buried many fear what people will find if examined in the open which is normal but when a film maker opens that layer through Intelligent chaos, sadistic violence and blood curdling torture disturbingly speaking they should be applauded and given all the tools to examine this descent a little further. Can't wait for part 2..

Acting - A (phenomenal leads) Casting - A (beautiful castings) Storyline - A (pandemic plot)0 Special effects - B (satisfying) Horror - B (cringing gore) Cinematography - A (top tier) Writing - A (spectacular) Sound - (eng. Subs) Music - B (morbidly consistent)

Reacher (2022– )
9/10
I apologize, I thought Prime was reaching with "Reacher" I was totally wrong.
27 February 2022
Alan Ritchson has arrived and Reacher will catapult his career for the many more seasons to come. He's more believable than Cruise and John Cena has met his match not to mention he looks intelligent. The action Directed by Thomas Vincent is amazing and not to be overlooked. I never felt stuck bing this series that I thought was over kill and wouldn't measure up but it's well thought out. It's usually one or the other, Intelligent with cheesy action or the ladder but Reacher packs a 👊 punch on all fronts. A great new crime action series 90% of viewers will enjoy.

I freakin loved this brilliant film.
23 November 2021
🌠🌠🌠🌠🌠🌠🌠🌠 No spoilers just a slight tease but quickly here's the deal.

"A HOUSE ON THE BAYOU" Isn't aiming or even interested in run of the mill terror or horror, don't get me wrong it does possess a few terrifying moments but what this film does is truly connect with the viewer unraveling the arduous process of EVIL weaving it's way through lies people think won't destroy them til it knocks at the door.

PROS: 1. Great acting.. Jacob Lofland who plays Issac was perfectly cast. He had moments of pure gold.

2. The writing was phenomenal posing questions like "Everybody knows who God's son is well what about the Devil"?

3. The Characters were a joy to uncover. 9 if you include the all black cat and mystery presence 4. A psychological marvel that resonates after viewing.

5. Whether a reviewer or movie buff the reward of how good it feels when everything just makes sense at the end.

CONS: 1. Running time is 128 minutes But feels half as long. This film would of fared better as a series.

2. It wasn't totally predictable but some things I figured out instantly

I would highly recommend this film that doesn't take the super secretive approach with characters staring at each other and not speaking manufacturing tension, NO it intelligently dives in giving this film a fresh original plot oozing with substance and lure.. Awesome.

Utterly Horrible, LACKS Everything.
15 October 2021
🌠🌠🌠 / A Waste of time / First off this sexuaul calamity of a supposed modern porn industry endeavor takes you on the most boring adventure 😴 at the end you wake up realize you were asleep and wet the bed. The films all over the place and doesn't know what it wants to be. There's NO Empathy, NO real goal, NO real misfortune, it's the ME 2 addition of porn girls.. Am I supposed to feel bad because the guys calling his porn Co star bad words and she's starting to cry. Gimme a damn break really. Wow they were really out of the box giving her a strap on OMG and that's your finale.. Or does her hopping out of the limo represent her career in porn, News flash WHO CARES. I would definitely tell everyone who was told this film is disturbing or graphic, or whatever it's not. It's a waste of time and the acting was amateur. SHE DID NOTHING SPECIAL. Hardly any range in her character maybe that's the writing or direction she was given but no I will not remember her she had no defining qualities as an actor. Body face all average I'm not complaining but she didn't save this movie it's unredeemable. Watch at your own Peril. I DO 👎 NOT RECOMMEND.

Real Rap Lives.. The Best Teen 👌 Show in Ages.
13 October 2021
Warning: Spoilers
🌠🌠🌠🌠🌠🌠🌠🌠🌠 Speaking as a rap artist performing for over 30 years with experience writing screenplays I have this to say.. Cowards who subscribe to that Jon Gruden rhetoric talk nonsense on texts or in private but wouldn't dare speak it publicly have no footing for criticism. Any clowns who would rate this phenomenal show less than a 7 are undoubtedly just racist and or fools who know nothing about great New age storytelling.

The overall premise of the story is not new BUT GENIUS. Weaving true Hip-Hop history with Fantasy Sci-Fi focusing on the world that was and realizing we still struggle with the same issues isn't new BUT the elegance and intelligence this entire production oozes is quite remarkable. First off all the cast of teen co-stars are all amazingly diverse and superbly suited for their roles. Dancing, Rapping, Singing, Drumming. The characters all rotate between Beautiful wardrobes, Prison jump suits or tights, It's a beautiful thing and maybe that may not sound appealing to read but on screen it gives the show so many layers to sift through. You never get bored or lulled to sleep from repetitive writing it's fresh.. The executive music producer is Boi-1da AND OH did I mention SNOOP DOGG. Yeah tell me something in the last 5 years he did that wasn't slamming, Let's see how the Superbowl goes maybe I'm wrong about Snoop. I can't begin to get my head around the ARCHIVE.

African Americans have history from 50 years ago many are still burying, As if it's hard to believe our black history couldn't get buried and forbidden 500 years from now. I'll close by saying "UTOPIA FALLS" is definitely on my favorites list for a teen series. A must see if you have a super smart teen like me who isn't easily impressed or you wanna see a fresh show with substance great music moments and a robust storyline with actors you really get attached too. Kudos to everyone involved.. Don't think just watch.

The premise is totally different but this film is "FLY" esque. It's a horror that gets very disturbing while still maintaining a family friendly vibe throughout and I think it's brilliant. Kudos all around not many films are memorable but this pulls it off with an all around entertaining feature.

Purely Amazing Gem.. Lee Daniel's does it again!
7 April 2021
We in Philly tend to forget our prevalent history as Cowboys as we pass numerous African Americans such as myself in North Philly riding 🐎 horses is very common. This coming of age story is of course a classic told in the most exciting way as Lee Daniel's does with everything.. Besides it has horses, Highly recommended is my conclusion most will highly enjoy.

Project Power (2020)

Fast action from the start with amazing cinematography and Sfx
14 August 2020
8/10 🌠🌠🌠🌠🌠🌠🌠🌠 This film was a highly anticipated Netflix release and by most accounts it definitely delivers primarily because everything is done very well. Of course Jamie Fox being the top star among a decent amount of Hollywood A-listers, Fox has a reputation for fully embracing roles and this film holds true to that notion but the real entertainment value comes from the cinematography and Sfx going from 0-60 in scene after scene is portrayed beautifully. The storyline I felt was more than adequate and some may debate but it wasn't predictable, the pace was perfect and the dialogue was engaging. I would definitely recommend "Project Power" for the whole family 10yo & Up should really enjoy it.

A realistic view of an ✈ hostage scenario.
29 May 2020
Warning: Spoilers
This somber film isn't very expansive with about 15 characters in total and the entire film takes place in the pilot's cockpit. But where this film becomes robust is through intensity from a terrifying scenario. What I enjoyed about the 🎞 is it didn't try and create any false narratives or stupid ideas that most movies insert into scripts for cheesy entertainment value. No the lead character although under immense pressure followed suit with what most people put in that situation would do. Yes I would reccomend this movie it's not a bang bang thriller to fly through on a Sunday afternoon what have you but it's definitely a late-night dramatic flick that moves the needle provoking solemn reflection by it's end.

The High Note (2020)
5/10
"HIGH NOTE" is a highly predictable 🍪 cut film, but it seems that was their intention
29 May 2020
5/10 🌠🌠🌠🌠🌠 Don't get me wrong this film does have a few moments and a few chuckles spread out between 2 hours of viewing but that's about it. The plot sorta feels like this is the role Tracee has been itching to play her whole life, A chance to imitate her mom Diana. But I don't feel this role contributed to her acting career one bit. She's known for being hilarious but this role didn't cater to that strength or atleast the writing was dull.. There isn't any difficult choreography or performance scenes that would require any training. The drama is almost non-existent nothing that draws any real reflection or a teary eye and this is a Rom-Com where the romance is really kept to the bare minimum, Unless your counting the love (💘) for music which kinda was the only mainstay throughout it's entirety. Dakota Johnson does her best and of course Cube was a good addition but after decades of the same peel and paste romantic comedies one after another it feels like if your forced to eat the same meal for a whole year the sight of it makes you cringe no matter how good. The film however throws a hailmary and provides a small twist at the end which is totally non-believable but I guess when writing the script it was projected to be a winner but in my opinion they run out of time and it's the tale of 2 little 2 late. The film is OK 👌 but I wouldn't put it on my list for recommendations. If you miss this one your not missing much.

I really tried but super 😴 boring at best.
29 May 2020
Warning: Spoilers
4/10 🌠🌠🌠🌠 I know it's the 1950's but the whole concept of alien transmissions and secret government projects with soldiers becoming ill after performing certain tasks is outrageously outdated. Yes Sierra Mccormick if I spelled that wrong so be it I'm not a fan but I think she's super cute running around with bifocals wearing a plaid skirt and the dialogue tries it's best to be witty and upbeat with old small american town slightly chauvinistic lingo from 70 years ago but it's just not enough. Maybe they were going for some sort of eureka moment to happen on camera that would draw viewers in and make this film worth while but sadly for me it just didn't happen and I'm not sure what these high ratings are about maybe it's cast or crew but I haven't spoken to anyone who has given this film a thumbs up even teens have been harsh which is the demographic this film is aiming for. Sorry but this will be a hard pass on my recommendation and usually Amazon originals meet a certain entertainment criteria but they do have their duds slip through the cracks more than I'd like to admit.

Classic Bait & Switch at it's finest!
29 May 2020
3/10 🌠🌠🌠 THAT'S ALL THE EMILIA WE GET.. I thought something was weird seeing Emilia Clarke and a rating of 4. Even when the dragon queen does a romantic comedy that's really not my cup of tea I still find myself mesmerized watching it all the way through. This meager attempt at bait and switch was more horrid than the actual tales. Very happy I didn't pay to see and for their attempt at trickery I refuse to waste my time & give credence to any of them by offering a more in depth review😤

B movie cinema here. Not bad for it's weight class.
20 May 2020
The cinematography is good for a B movie this film has a Lifetime vibe too it. Unknown actors do a good enough job the lead looks like a former prom queen. The stories not very original and kinda predictable but there's enough funny moments to keep it unique and interesting. With a skeleton crew of actors throughout the entirety it gets pretty lame but I would recommend this for my mom to watch but that's about it the ending was 👌 OK so I guess it wasn't a total bust if you need to waste an hour & 30 mins.

After 30 mins. My gut said a let down is looming, Damn I should've listened.
19 May 2020
3/10 🌠🌠🌠 I love disturbing movies and "Neverland" is the epitome of a perfectly packaged ominous fakeout flick. The problem is too many sub-par writers/directors get ideas and try to sprinkle controversial or taboo keywords into their films trying overlay trash 🗑 with art. Words like Homosexuality, Slaughterhouse, Psychoanalysis, Hallucinations etc. The list goes on but when you see someone grab a bunch of things to throw against a wall to see what sticks you usually see a half-hearted attempt to create an underwhelming project, Which sadly is what this measures out to be. When the best part of a film is the techno riff or party beat used at the closing credits I can't help but wonder how someone felt as though this film should be created in the first place. I get what they were trying to do but between nothing happening and a flurry of fever dreams where things barely happen the point of this flick is oddly moot. I wouldn't recommend this film there's a million other ways to waste your time.

The B reel accompanied in this film was good enough to get a nod for a nomination.
27 April 2020
Been a blessing because it kinda puts you off hearing the heavy Irish accents you have to really concentrate when listening at times it doesn't even sound like their speaking English. But once you get a handle on their cadence and comprehend Ireland's pronunciation the dialogue is pretty well written. The whole film is shot beautifully and the acting was superb a melancholy vibe persisted from start to finish. Not really disturbing or ominous but as you watch the anticipation builds tremendously because you know something tragic is bound to happen it gives you that feeling at any moment you'll see it explode. Oddly enough with everything in place the story sparks but never blowups. Not that nothing happens it does run it's course but it could of been so much more powerful at the end. I did enjoy watching and the score was phenomenal an early 90's late 80's vibe and sound. The film had a great msg. which means a lot so I would definitely recommend this film to checkout.

Black Garden (2019)
4/10
A full length indie feature that would of been better suited to be a short
13 April 2020
4.5/10 🌠🌠🌠🌠🌌 This B&W independent film has a few key moments but they appear very lackluster due to the absence of any visual special effects and I mean any. No gun shots with exploding dye packs, No computer generated nuclear explosions, No car crashes or heavily choreographed fight scenes, They don't even go as far as someone being physically hit at all. They cut camera or it pans out to something far less interesting and once the altercations complete we get a gander of the aftermath. Outside of a muffled radio correspondence which makes no sense because it's being carried out by using a gigantic oldschool radio that's doubling as a walkie talkie. There's also a few scenes with billowing clouds of smoke in the background but that pretty much sums up the post production Sfx. My schedule was clear so I had an hour and half to burn but otherwise I wouldn't of made it through the entirety of this film. The acting is OK and the storyline of an apocalyptic era has been overly saturated to put it nicely but this scenario is still very interesting and appealing to our imagination when pondering on what if's. Ultimately I wouldn't recommend this feature but their still may be a small fraction of indie movie lovers who would enjoy "Black Garden"

The Morning Show (I) (2019– )
9/10
I can't remember a show with a more perfectly picked cast of actors for non-fiction characters.
25 March 2020
9.5/10 🌠🌠🌠🌠🌠🌠🌠🌠🌠🌌 I believe the casting directors for this series have absolutely without a doubt achieved the highest degree of perfection with every selection they've made for each role. I don't think people realize how strenuous and exhausting a non-fiction big production can become especially when it entails dark comedy but selecting the right chemistry of characters to portray actual real life people or events along with the most important factor which is entertaining the audience should not be overlooked. I've been waiting for this series and I never expected for it to be this good but I will say I hate iphones they have nothing on my Samsung Note+ but when it comes to the shows on AppleTV "SEE", "The Servant", and now "The Morning Show" are undoubtedly in my top ten of best TV series I've watched in the past half decade. This is what I consider must see TV.

The Platform (2019)
9/10
Original, Outrageous, Ominous, Outstanding
21 March 2020
9/10 🌠🌠🌠🌠🌠🌠🌠🌠🌠 I don't often see movie trailers with English subtitles that peak my interest so much I anticipate it's release for over 8 months. Since so many films have been let downs through out the years it's really great when a film isn't just what you expect but over delivers on so many levels. "The Platform" fits that description to a T. From the start the mystery and intrigue of this detention center is magnified by not only the prisoners but the administration that caters to them. Some disturbing movies aren't so much driven by an original idea layered with intelligence and thought provoking content, Most rely heavy on shock value and cynicism. That is not the case with "The Platform" it contains all of those attributes and delivers them brilliantly at a pace that keeps you glued to the screen from the opening until the closing credits. This film definitely has my nomination for indie foreign film of the year. I enjoyed "Parasite" but this film gets the winning edge from me in 2020.

I'm an IMDB prolific reviewer. This was a very good and solid film. From top to bottom.
20 March 2020
8/10 🌠🌠🌠🌠🌠🌠🌠🌠 I admit I only took a chance on this film because of Liev and afterwards I read a review here claiming this film had the most fake positive ratings. Well I'm not fake with over 300 reviews and I undoubtedly enjoyed this film. This style of filming called RASHOMON-style ( A story where the same event or timeline is recounted by several characters.) Is impressive on a few different levels. Of course the acting is superb no need to mention the names and no one did horrible as some people would lead you to believe, But the premise of this storyline through contrasting these characters different economic classes shows more similarities than not. The pace of the films pretty good but it can be a tad jarring because of the style I mentioned where each character returns to a previous point in time but from their point of view. But as the story unfolds and informations revealed the character development is awesome to see. Yes I would recommend this film most will highly enjoy it, Don't believe a loathing Variety or Ebert review. The majority always feels the opposite of what they write anyway and you will too.

Bloodshot (2020)

A by the numbers action & Sci-fi film with Vin Diesel pulling off his usual antics.
7 March 2020
7/10🌠🌠🌠🌠🌠🌠🌠 This film gets right to the point and doesn't hesitate revealing the true nature of each character. The premise isn't original and although it's been done more times than I can count more recently the film "UPGRADE"comes to mind but the pace of the film is quick so you never get a chance to harbor on the flaws of each scene. Plus it's always a treat to see Eiza Gonzalez so there's that. The Acting and special effects are of the usual Hollywood grade nothing spectacular Vin shows his usual grimace right before he roars with anger vowing to get revenge on the villain who double crossed him. But it's not a bad film it could've been a little more action it seemed kinda short but I guess they say time flys when your having fun. Yes I would recommend this film for action fans alike no matter the age it's mild at Pg-13.

Little Joe (2019)
3/10
A perfect 101 guide on how to film good acting, Videography with stunning visuals, Write an intriguing storyline and still find a way to make a bad movie and waste potential.
1 March 2020
3/10 🌠🌠🌠 This film was an absolute waste of time. Did I like the characters and the acting? Yes. Did the videography and color schemes utilizing the props, sets and wardrobe look beautifully amazing? You better believe it. But just like the film "Gwen" (2018) which claims to be a folk tale derived from Wales, Although the look and vibe of the film was similar to "The Witch" or more recently "Gretel & Hansel" the film itself was horrendous leaving you with more questions than answers and wasting a storyline that has so much potential. But "Little Joe" does the opposite by giving you a very intriguing storyline just to mope around from scene to scene and literally go nowhere with a minuscule climactic ending. Someone mentioned violence what violence an off screen punch with the perception of hitting someone or the falling over a ledge that you don't see happen or even the body laid out as the aftermath. To be considered a slow burn you have to actually catch fire at some point and this film didn't even create a spark. The style and quirky feel of the movie was great but this isn't a music video if you make someone sit through 1hour 45mins of mostly boredom you can't possibly lead them towards a path that goes nowhere and expect viewers not to become furious at the conclusion. I give this a hard pass. Waste your time if that's what your into but i can't get my two hours back and damn I hate when that happens.
